Mac is a jerk?

Schlitz Happened · Uranus Unlimited Inc. at Music Promotions & Marketing
When I was part of the morning show on 97.9 The Loop in 2004, I received several especially nasty emails from a 'listener' who told me to 'shut up and play the music' among many other not so printable things. I eventually found out it was Mr. McNeil, who I have never met in any capacity. I found it to be extremely unprofessional for another radio person to make such mean spirited and personal attacks, but seeing how his life has gone over the years I see he is a sick person and needs help. I'm sorry he has these problems, and I am going to take the high road and wish him only the best and a speedy recovery. I may have problems in my own life, but not his. I'm blessed, and even though his comments really stung at the time I now have a bigger picture as to why he made them. I don't take it personally. Best wishes to him.

Please insert your own caption for the above picture. Dan McNeil will not do.

I really hope he doesn't bolt.

Unlike 95% of everyone else, I never caught Mac back in the old Score days or the MJH era. I think he's still a good listen.

Why, does he look young there? It could only get worse from there.

I have a feeling 04 Mac and 13 Mac are pretty different. Less chemically.

In the comments section another question was raised 3x: "What happened to Mark Grote?"

What did happen to him?

From Larz:

Larz wrote:
Mark Grote is currently dealing with an important personal issue. The station thinks highly of him and they wish him the best during this time. It is highly doubtful that he will be heard from on his Twitter or Facebook accounts during this time, as his focus will be solely on this issue. The station is hopeful to have Mark back sometime in November.

Wow,I'm shocked at Feder's terrible website. How hard is it to make a presentable website nowadays?

Feder went from the Sun-Times to WBEZ to Time Out Chicago to apparently just his own site. He's basically just standing on a street corner shouting about Randy Michaels.

CH, there is an edge to everything you post these days. I wonder if I just missed it in the past. I used to view you as more fun loving, now, the dark side I sense in you.

CH,
After Gary Deeb sold out (about 100 years ago),Feder did a great job. It's sad nobody is paying attention.

Feder cut a deal with the Tribune over the Summer. Trib pays for/co-markets his site.

The problem for Feder is there's very little that he can break that wasn't already on Twitter/Facebook or in a comments thread somewhere.

He's like the canary in the coal mine post hand-held electronic pollutant detectors.

He should move into aggregation and regular updates, like this guy: http://jimromenesko.com/

As a former intern of the McNeil and Spiegel Show (mid to late 2012), Mac is far from a jerk. Whatever happened in 2004 or in the past...OK, I guess. If you listened to the show today, Spiegs called Mac "a dear friend." That couldn't be more on point, seeing everyone interact in meetings, etc.

I was at the Score for only 2-3 months, and as an intern, but I was treated by those two with the upmost professionalism. Especially Mac.

Some of these things on here — aside from show criticisms, etc, because that's part of the gig — are very far off. Mac is at the front of the line with people. He's a good dude. Thanks Mac, for the advice, kind words, and occasionally breakfast.
