Lots of Bears talk today.
Meat will loudly sigh directly into the microphone many, many times.

Thanks for the assist, Tad.

As for Meat......no mac and a partnership with Leary makes me actually feel sorry for him.

Meat said Mac is on a personal leave of absence and they hope he will be back soon, which I think is where we were at last week.

Now had I created the thread, you would have had a fit, Someguy, and created you own "Official" thread.

Larry's been brutal today and it's obvious he's taking things over.

This segment of "how do you as a fan get through the day" is atrocious radio. What does he think we are...a bunch of five year olds on Christmas eve? It's a frickin' football game Larry. Talk about something interesting and get these lame ass callers off the air. This is something Mac would NEVER EVER do.

Have they discussed how bad the Bulls look yet? That's just a suggestion for them to replace this crap for the next hour or so.

From the Trib:

WSCR-AM 670 host Matt Spiegel confirmed to his audience Monday that partner Dan McNeil is taking a break from the station to deal with personal issues.
Media reporter Ed Sherman posted a transcript of Spiegel’s comments to his site at shermanreport.com: “For me personally, I love that complicated and troubled man. If you heard the show, and the way we’ve talked about mental illness and depression, you know our level of sympathy and empathy is sometimes different than others. … I would personally ask that you think of him with kindness.”

Station program director Mitch Rosen confirmed the situation, echoing Spiegel’s on-air comments: “Dan McNeil is on a personal leave of absence. He appreciates all the people who have reached out and he hopes to be back on the air soon.”

McNeil has been absent from his show for a few weeks. Through his agent, he has declined to speak publicly.

This is not the first instance in McNeil’s career of being off the air because of personal issues. Each time, however, he has managed to reconnect with his audience. It remains to be seen if he can do it again.

"I was born with something that I have no control over," McNeil said last year when struggling with addiction. "And I have fought that for a good portion of my life. It is not the type of disease that garners much sympathy, but I am not interested in sympathy."

McNeil is also a special contributor to the Tribune's Chicago Sports section.

Maybe I will write a book of them. If Gary is writing a WYC book from the grave, why shouldn't I write a LoHo book?

No way! Two different situations, Tad picked up a fallen brother when the official show thread wasn't posted at its usual time. You, on the other hand, jumped the gun and created the show thread the night before or at least much earlier than the usual time...you also gave it the OFFICIAL moniker. It was a hurtful time for SomeGuy, if yoy want to behave as such you could always start your own board and have all the danny mac and members of danny mac threads you want.

Come on, Spmack, don't do me like dat!
