Not into sensationalism, especially to a guy that was so cool to me through the years and vice versa. This just really sucks. To be honoest, I almost hope that Mac can hook up with Jurko and someone after the dust settles. S&H are an ok listen...smart, informed. I learn stuff from them, but not sure if I retain all that much. |

Laurence Holmes, a 25 year veteran of the station, will stay as Matt Spiegel's co-host until further notice. Wow. I am very bummed at this news. Holmes seemed to be extra peppy today. Now I know why. The promos were the tipoff. I hope Mac gets well and hopefully comes back at some point. It's better for sports talk overall when he's part of it. Sounds like he's battling it, though. It's amazing how much something like a sports talk radio show becomes ingrained in your daily routine. Bad news for the listeners and bad news for the Score. |

If WSCR isn't paying Mac, then you would think he'd be free to sign with whomever. ESPN paid out the balance of Tiny's and Mac's contracts when they were shown the door, partly to keep them on the sidelines (more Mac than Tiny), partly because it's probably cheaper to pay than litigate and also because to not pay looks bad for future talent contemplating working for that station. And talent is paid for more than the time they spend behind the microphone. Mac's on-going association with the station has value even if he's not on the air. |

Last week I noticed LoHo has been driving the show and introducing his questionable evening show ideas. I checked out last week Wednesday. Must be very frustrating for Spiegel and Crew. I'm not a Spiegel fan but no one deserves this. |
