Call him "Danny Green and Gold", accuse him of having not cashed in at "the window" Sunday. But for close to 20 years I have given Dan McNeil the benefit of the doubt when it comes to watching football and talking about it on the radio on Mondays. I haven't always agreed with his opinions but I know that he is consistent in his focus and approach.

With Mac out will come a new type of radio that I'm not sure I want to listen, or truthfully, care to listen. I don't respect the opinions of either host, or for anyone else on WSCR for that matter, because it is neither sincere or genuine. Spiegel will have a legal pad full of observations but lacking insight as to what is important and what isn't. Holmes will be the excited puppy that says whatever he thinks sounds good from hour to hour, and then act as if he just thought of something unique when the show ends and they go into transition (can't not be in sync with the afternoon guys). The boobs in the afternoon will go wherever the one host wants to go, contrary to the popular sentiment expressed in the preceding six hours. The other host will toady along, enthusiastically and obediently.

For too many years I've had McNeil on Mondays, the one voice that benchmarked all the others who make noise. Sports radio in Chicago without McNeil is truly incomplete and unbalanced, and this week I will miss him too much.

Maybe it will be better to not tune in locally.

I'm getting used to missing him lately because his time slot is not something I can listen to on a regular basis (stupid grown up responsibilities), but Mac is my all-time favorite Chicago sports talker.

And while we're at it (we're not), Boers has brought nothing of substance to the airwaves in (going on) 12+ years.

Just saw a commercial showing Leary with brandon marshall and others, so now I assume Leary will talk all day about Brandon did this and when brandon told him this.

The only question is...Peanut are you jealous?

Hey,what about the morning show?? Mully & Hanley do give a solid analysis. The only problem is Mully "windbagging" it without coming up for air!
