Post subject:  D. McNeil Update
Does anybody know how D. McNeil is doing? If I recall correctly, he took a fishing trip to Canada the week prior to his leave from The Score, did something happen on the vacation that caused his leave?

I'm concerned and would love to help him - can we do something as a board to put a smile on his puss? Anybody with ideas??

Mac's been gelded by the Score. Rod flexed his nuts and cast Mac out of the temple. Mitch turned to his boy Holmes. It's Shakespearean. It sucks for us, the listeners, as he was one of the better hosts. I'm not going to say best, because he's been going the Terry Boers route of mailing it in since partnering with Spiegs. You let Bernstein win, Mac. He's probably silently chuckling about your demise while speaking Mandarin with his children. Bernsie's reign is solidified. He has consolidated his power and installed a puppet (Holmes) in your former time slot. You must rise from the ashes, Mac. Get Larry off my fucking radio!

That seems to be the narrative but it might be deceiving. LoHo is consolidating power on his own. His agent is running the station after all. All of that "you're right, dan" stuff is merely a ploy as Larry makes his move to take over the Score. bernstein miscalculated in the same way Nixon miscalculated when appointing Blackmun.

I have heard from an inductry souce, can't say it is true or not, that Mac or one of his reps is

i heard unofficially that him and ben finfer are working on a backroom deal to bring a morning sports and money talk show to indiana

If Mac really is shopping himself he will make sure Finfer is his partner. But I think it's gonna be tough for Mac. I think stations will be scared to touch him. Fair or not. That's the way it is.
