All bets are off? shit someone's gotta know what i'm talking about here.... but terry took a good shot @ CTL right after it debuted and he made his solitary token appearance on it as a favor to someone. that'd be an interesting move by NBC cuz it'd be attempting to wrestle away a CBS Radio guy away from Radio in the hopes of bringing his 500k hardcore followers over to their side of the spectrum, cuz there's a reason laurence gets paid the big bucks. they got rid of the radio diaries because female listeners ended up doodling hearts and fancy-calligraphy "Laurences" in the journal as opposed to merely reporting what they listened to. |

Leary as the black Jesse Rodgers. Love it. Never thought of it, but it is spot on. Speaking of Jesse. I went to a WSCR event at the grand opening of one of the old Game Room stores in the early 2000's. It was an air-hockey tournament where the winner had to beat Buffone in the finals for Bears Tix. Jesse was doing a solo remote during the event, and I've never seen anything like it. While he was broadcasting he would wear a pair of wrap around sunglasses and a walking cap. When they would go to break he would take the gear off and get up to stretch, etc. When it was time to go back to air he would get back in costume to broadcast. Apparently, he thought he was on television. |

At about 12:10, Laurence spent a good 5-10 minutes discussing how a female optician recommended he purchase a special low-glare treatment for his eyeglasses. The only explanation for this "anecdote" is that he wanted to emphasize that a woman was actually speaking to him. Granted, she was paid to do so, but Laurence doesn't seem to care. I noticed that Spiegel was encouraging Holmes to spin this yarn. The only explanation for his behavior in this regard is that he is attempting to torpedo Holmes's permanent insertion into the show by letting Laurence be Laurence. |
