I care in the fact he wants to be paid like a team leader and part of being a team leader is talking to the media and fans , taking the heat.

You dont want to talk to the media, do the commercials, be Americas guest, fine, here is $3 Mill less, you can go home after every game.

My like or dislike of Urlacher personally, has nothing to do with me wanting him on my team.

The guy is and was a jerk. Still is a jerk. did I always want him on my team? YUP

Good football players often dont make good people.

Just like good sports writers dont often make good sports radio hosts!

That was my complaint about him and to a lesser extent Cutler. You guys want to give shitty answers to the media ( an extension of your fans, the people who pay your salary} thats all well and good but then you want to shill for Comcast and Cadillac and make all nice nice, I'm being paid by these people please patronize them. Comes off a little hypocritical .

Most fans don't care, and the advertisers are counting on most people not knowing. He's a football player, the best white middle linebacker to play the game in over a generation. That he can remember his lines without studdering, or can actually pantomime without looking clueless, or that he hasn't punched out a skank in a TGI Friday's is what matters.

Cadillac is sponsor, and Jay (or Jay's wife) getting a Caddy works nicely for them all. So long as Jay isn't punching out idiots at the Tilted Kilt, or his wife isn't getting idiot headlines with ethnic or racial slurs, Cadillac is happy. Again, they don't count on everybody knowing or liking Cutler.

This is all precisely the kind of fodder to make the meters move.
