Why was Washington afraid of being president for a 3rd term? I bet it had something to do with his poll numbers and popularity. I think we all can agree that not only was Andrew Johnson the worst president he was probably responsible for Lincoln's assassination. Same with LBJ. Bobby Kennedy was about to get the ambitious LBJ dumped from the ticket and very few in the Kennedy administration liked him. |

JFK's assassination was one of the best things that could've happened at that time. LBJ shepherded the Civil Rights Act into law the next year before the election. Wouldn't have happened had JFK lived. |
