I could be wrong, but this would point to Mac staying and jumping to the Game:

 tweet says nothing that indicates anything, other than he hasn't left the area (reservation) and is having his boat serviced.

If anything, it sounds like he wants to be sure to cash in on all his vacay. Which is pretty much what he's said all year.

"Leaving the reservation" means falling off the wagon, getting high.

thank god that mac didn't leave the reservation.... that pot is one hell of a dangerous gateway drug that leads to sooooo much more than taco bell drive throughs. it's not that pot is often the most readily available illegal drug which get people to flip the YAY/NAY switch on illegal drugs as a whole.... it's more like once you take that puff of weed you're automatically seeing the real meaning of lou reed's "perfect day" and essentially a soulless husk of a man so fundamentally broken that you're ready to start huffing air duster and paint thinner if you've abused your alcohol privileges.

altho if dan didn't leave the reservation isn't he more prone to run into the occasional peace pipe with his indian brothers? or can we relax mon cuz it's o'dweeds? =D

The main thing I took away from this link is that the person who runs the Bob from Niles fake twitter account has tweeted nearly ten thousand times.

You say marijuana is non-addictive
For you, my friend, that might be true
You get the munchies and sit home watching TV
But give Mac a hit, son and he'll show you what that shit'll do

Had a Gig once that they paid you for unused vacation days when you left the company.

Worked there for 5 years and was practically my own boss , as long as I produced, nobody cared if I ever came in. So when I went away, I would leave, check my voice mails and call people back. Didnt even know the policy about going on vacation.

During year 5 I left for another job and the HR exit interview, she says I had 9 weeks of unused vacation time. I admitted that was wrong, but never filled out a vacation request. So she said they had to pay me the 9 weeks! close to $10K as my parting gift! and I think someone got in trouble for that. She wouldnt even let me take less because they had no documents for it. Twist my arm.

Nowadays I think most places either use em or lose them or at best get 50% back in cash

Yeah it is an accounting liability. I remember companies clamping that about 95.

I would say this points to him being a murderer as much as it points to him jumping to the Game.

I don't think Mac is using his vacation days anymore. I think he used them up leading up to his contract expiring.

I think his contract is up and he simply told Mitch he's taking time off before deciding what he's gonna do. I'm sure by now Mac has had the offer presented to him. Pretty sure Mac told this board that is what he was gonna do a while back.

I have this image of Mac in the desert crawling and looking for water. Smoking a cigarette, of course. Above him vultures are circling him. The vultures have the heads of Drinky, Goff, Grote and Rozner.

Mac isn't dead yet you sons of bitches!!!!!!

I think we all know, as does Mac, that he is facing a big pay cut. Heck, he barely shows up for work, he says he hates watching sports and his "commitment to excellence" has added fifty pounds.
He isn't in demand for his bullshit show and he knows it. He has overplayed his hand time and again, and if he goes fishing for good, so be it.
No one in radio will pay this pathetic addict much money to not show up, claim excessive vacation time, and then go
to rehab for the umptheen time.

hey Mac, it's time to get your shine box.

Where I work, if you're laid off, they pay you for any unused vacation "earned". So many hours are earned every pay period, until September or something, when it's done. That's why they lay off people before that time.

Well, I certainly would think that the Score would not go more than 1 year deals with Mac form here on out.

But, from all accounts, Mitch loves Mac. He must. Mac told him to find another money and Mitch still took him back to finish his contract.

Mitch is a weak boss by nature. He fears Bernstein and really doesn't like to confront his employees. That's why the producers run wild at that station. I don't think Mitch likes to fire people and pretty much will renew everybody unless Zimmerman steps in. I think North and Murphy was Zimmerman stepping in.

Mitch and Mac are old Loop guys. That's why everyone thought they'd both wind up at WGN under DeCastro. Instead, Mitch stayed, DeCastro fired fellow Loop guy Garry Meier, and brought back John Williams and Kathy & Judy. Radio's a funny business.

I've heard Mac say that Mitch started out as a producer and rose up to boss man. Didn't know they both worked at the loop. I never listened to the loop as a kid except to catch some Bulls games. Though I'm aware of how popular that station was in the 80s.

Mitch and Mac are probably around the same age. So I'll bet that why they have a kinship. They probably ran together as producers.

Mitch was a producer for Kevin Matthews. Maybe Steve & Garry for a while, too. Mac produced Chet, of course.

Mitch produced for Eddie Schwartz when he came to the Loop, then for Kevin Matthews. His on air assignation was "Chunga."

I wonder if that's a reference to the 1970 Frank Zappa album Chunga's Revenge. One of his better ones, I feel.

I didn't know that, but I'm sure it was. Kevin Matthews was a big Zappa guy.

It's pretty obvious Mac is getting a raise one way or another. This isn't even hard to figure out. He could legitimize The Game the first day he shows up there. The Score is already seeing mass defections of fairly meaningless talent to it. Keeping Mac would be important to keeping their spot. Both sides will be willing to at least pay him more than what he was making.

The timing couldn't be better for Mac.
