At what point does a contract dispute become an outright "he no longer works here"? It's like when Kramer was on strike from H & H Bagels for 10 years.

Is Mac using vacation days or just unpaid leave?

If he is using the caca days that means he has about 6-7 months in his contract. That's insane.

He doesn't have a contract so this is unpaid

It's not "vacation" or "unpaid leave". His contract expired. He's simply not employed by the Score.

From what Mac posted, he just told Mitch he's gone for a few months after his contract expires.

I don't even think anybody knows if contract talks have actually begun.

But the Score must want him back or else you'd think they would have announced a new show if they didn't.

Mac can choose the day he returns to the Score. This seems obvious.

If you think about it, Zim probably likes it. These subs are probably getting paid 20% of what Mac got per show, if that. And there really isn't enough time of bad for the ad rates to drop. So Zim is making money during these 2 months.

Zim: 8)

Look, Mac has a history of depression and anger. He will find a way not to sign with the score. It's just the way his brain works.

he isn't in the dpression or anger mode from what I can tell, he is going with the flow, Mr Happy

I just hope that Mac is ok. The worst thing for an addict is to have extra time on their hands with nothing too do. I hope Mac isn't sitting in his smoke filled gazebo again.

He's been doing a lot of landscaping projects, according to his Facebook.

From everything I see on Facebook, he is doing just fine.

I'm gonna guess "the Game has made an offer to Mac" story.

Here's what the wise Larz has to say:

He was NOT in any type of rehab. McNeil has been in Canada fishing for most of the last month and a half. It was a trip he has had planned for a long time. He is now back home in northwest Indiana and working on contract negotiations with CBS Radio. The negotiations are at an impasse, at least for now. The sticking points are not about money, but about other issues.

The ball is in McNeil's court. He can accept the great offer from WSCR-AM, he can take a far worse offer from another station, or he can leave Chicago sports radio and fish all day, every day. Right now, McNeil seems to be leaning toward option #3.

He has to sit a year if he doesn't resign.

I can certainly see him doing that.

There is no reason for the Game to offer him anything. CBS has the right to match. And will.

Mac has a 1 year non compete clause?

With regards to CBS having the right to match, does this mean that if they do match a competing offer that Mac must accept the matching offer? He couldn't still elect to take the competing offer?

This is the kind of stuff that makes me dislike Larz. He wants to be Feder, but his editorializing is ten times as blatant and always defends people no one likes, or at least shouldn't like. At least Feder talked shit about Randy Michaels.

The Chicago Media Chat board, which I think at one point had a bunch of posters using variations of our usernames, has actually turned out to be a nice alternative to the Larz board.

It was another board, it was the one where the Forum Kings came over here and tried to pull some traffic...it was actually pretty funny and not a bad site but it wasn't Chicago Media Chat.

It's layout was something close to CSFMB

Speaking of Feder, I just went over to his site for the first time in a while and learned that not only is Kathy of Eric and Kathy opening a restaurant, so too is the team of Lou Canellis, Kip Lewis, and HARD BAKE. While the Larz board futzes around with which idiots are calling this week's Bears game, this is news you can use.

Hasn't brandmier done something similar. More than once. They just want a show the way the want it. Johnny with Kent was ok better again with buzz. They have their thing and want their audience. Not a terrible thing
