I guess Grimace's various partners is just another buffet of cock. That seems to be the meal du jour.

I actually like Grote with Grimace... nice smooth listen.

Grotes seems to be a good show with each partner.

let him have a show and develop it, even if that means taking over the evening slot!

He's a decent listen. He won't piss you off and he doesn't seem like a guy you could develop an irrational loathing for. I like that he doesn't take himself seriously. That's the problem the bland hosts have. They think they have original thoughts and are above the petty rabble of the listener base when they are really just assholes with a microphone. Grote actually reminds me of Brian Paruch. It's not Mac or Bernstein when they were good but it's also not the smug and arrogant banality of Joe O or McKnight.

I've said this once before about Grote. He's very comfortable with himself. Very secure. Which makes him very different than Larry and all of the other Score backups who are all very insecure.

Also, unlike the others, he's not always thinking "What would Bernstein say".

Maybe that is why the other wannabees went to the game? They see Grote as the one.

I've definitely been enjoying Grote. He's just fine as paint.
Would very much like to see him have his own show.
Damn, if Mac is gone wouldn't middays be nice with say Grote and Rozner?
I like Rozner.

That's also true from hearing him with Rosie on the weekends.

I guess I like him the most based on the other options. Just not being a dumb ass/ass hole/Bernstein clone pretty much makes him unique compared to all of the other backups at the Score.

When you hear him you think to yourself, how the hell did he get on the Score?

I think he came over from WBBM. But no, he doesn't get embroiled in the high school bullshit that you see from most Score kids.

I think before that he was on a station in Peoria or something where he did play-by-play, news gathering/reporting, hosting, probably producing, etc. Most of the other Score guys don't have that smaller market play-all-the-positions experience. They grew up around here, and stayed around here.

That's the best part about him...he doesn't give a flying fuck what little Danny would say.

He makes fun of Les. That seems like a good place to start if you wanna get in good at the Score.

I sorta had the same thought.
He's very at ease with everything, kinda like the antibernstein. It seems his best place would be as a sidekick with a someone like Mac, but i wouldn't mind hearing what he could do with more air time.

I like Grote well enough, but I find Spiegel to be so smarmy and unlikable that I just can't listen.

Agreed. There's something about his voice, it has a very-generic-radio quality to it.

Always thought Grote was underrated. I don't understand why other guys have shows ahead of him.

Bump.

Just bringing it back for the Score bosses. Decision time is coming soon.

Somebody else want to start a "Review Rozner" thread. People hate when I start good threads.
