If this is the kind of chemistry we can expect then this show may end up destroying all sports radio.

Just shut the whole industry down. It's over.

the commercial just means Pat's awful at reading copy. I'll reserve judgement until I hear the first show.

I won't. It's better to say it sucks before you actually hear that it sucks. Anybody can do that.

Yeah. I'm going to say that having trouble reading words from a piece of paper on the radio may be a bad sign.

Hasn't stopped Garry Meier yet! That's for his wife to do!

Mitch will regret the day he hired Pat. He would be ok as an expert Bears guest, but not a host. He has no personality and knows nothing about Chicago sports. In the old days of 670, they had hometown meatball hosts like Mike North. It was fun and entertaining. Now we get to choose from Mr. Ego Bernstein and boring Matt and Pat.

You're out of your mind! If you aren't fired up for some football porn after hearing that, then you don't have a pulse, my friend.

I suspect Mannelly was in charge of giving the pregame "let's get fired up" speech each week.

I suspect he didn't read it off a piece of paper.

I didn't say it's a poor hire in the sense they could have had someone better. I will say that I liked his insights on football specifically and I would listen on a Mon and Fri basis to the guy, if he's listenable.

I have a feeling that Mannelly is just a hole-plugger until Boers retires (2 years tops?). When that happens, the Score will introduce a new morning/midday/afternoon lineup with Bernstein taking over the morning show.

I always thought Bernstein in mornings was the natural conclusion to his interest in more general topics (hmm, who else did this?), but then I hear a little voice in my head going "working mornings takes years off your life. You mess up your circadian rhythm and get sick and die and can't see your kids. Doing morning drive is stupid."

Dan can just start taking afternoon naps, like the Big Black Studs in the NBA do. You know, right before they drink coffee and open mail.

They listened to me. The newest commercial has Patrick Mannelly saying his first name and last name and that is it.
