Why?

Its the bottom of the barrel. Its entry level.

I dont know a lot of college grads that sign up for entry level jobs paying sub 25K. You can go work virtually anywhere and make more.

Who said anything about college grads?

(I dont think finding a 25K job is as easy or worthless as you make it seem, btw)

Its obviously a job you take for the opportunity over salary

I assumed all the producers needed a college degree.

Yeah, but when it's a diploma off the dot-matrix printer over at the IL Center for Broadcasting (aka "Hollywood Upstairs Radio Producer College"), I think $25k starts to sound generous.

It might be more like 25-30 nowadays and in a big market. Im sure the Radio Delaware guy is dragging down the average

More seriously, my guess would've put the +/- at around $35k.

Lots of humanities graduates start at minimum wage if they are entering an industry where there is a lot of workers for not many jobs. I think at some museums they have college graduates who even work for free for a while.

At the score yeah I would say close to that honestly. Closer to 30 to start still a bigger market and depending on the show I am sure it escalates well. I would think drinky is is 75,000 for sure at least with all the covering he does. Herb less because he has had bad slots but between 50-60 G's. Finfer likely took a nice little bump up to low six figures going to the game. He produces a show and hosts one. Sportstalk or talk in general is different though than the average producer, it takes more than q101 or wkqx or whatever they are.

All due respect Rick I don't think a lot of Humanities majors are going into it for the huge paydays. It's to bag chicks who take cello lessons and have band aids on their knees

Speaking of that, did you see what they were paying Chelsea Clinton at NBC?

Pretty sure he doesn't need it, as I believe either his parents or grandparents are megarich. You can see the name Zawaski all over land dedication plaques at Lake Katherine in Palos Heights, the town where he is supposedly lives.

There was dude who played baseball at Marist when I was in h.s. by the name of Vince Zawaski. Remember him being pretty good , think he was drafted . Wonder if he's any relation.

Zawaski went to Laurence although many moons after me. I have no recollection of his family name though.

More than 30K, less than 50K. Hank and Don Tiny are closest to accurate. You're got to figure in appearances and on-air shifts too.

They are not trust fund/silver spooners, Panthlo....earned what they got. And dat's dat.

That is a lot better than I thought. I was under the impression they were at 25K.

I guess if a guy like drinky is pulling down 70K for four hours of work per day (and not even that with Sox games), plenty of paid holidays and a CBS benefits package, he actually has a pretty attractive job.

There is plenty of time for a guy who hustles to add on another 25K+ per year.

He's not getting any tips from Bernstein at Christmas or after B and B get a ratings bonus. I picture Dan buying him wool socks and thinking it was a generous contribution.

I can see Dan saying "well maybe the producers deserve to get their own bonuses" and then doing absolutely nothing to effect it.

I thought they started for free as interns, then if they got lucky went to hourly before finally making the big time with a salaried position.
