Well Pat was about the only guy in Chicagoland who believed the Bears had a chance and he looked to
be dead wrong after the first half of the game last night. The Bears made me proud to be a fan last
night as they finally scrapped and pulled victory from the jaws of defeat for once. I am interested to
see how far he goes with him being right while everyone else was a non believer. I don't think he will
go overboard with it like Spiegs would, just continually rehashing and making the subject no fun. Should
be an interesting show. Victory Chicken for all!

I would like to suggest that, per T-Bone's thread title on 9/12, the name of this section be changed from "The Score's New Midday Show" to "Chunky and The Snapper."

I know they're kind of tongue in cheek, but stop bragging about "predicting" the Bears win. You always have a shot of being correct in the NFL, and if you're wrong, no one cares. He will likely pick the Bears to win most weeks, and he will be right some of the time. Who cares. Let us know when you bet 50 grand on the Bears to win. That might actually be impressive.

That's not my point. My point is that it's easy to "pick" an underdog to win with no repercussions. Put your money where your mouth is.

The number is irrelevant.

To tell you the truth I don't care what any of them have to say, especially the fucking kicker. They think that's a good get? Yeesh.

I do agree the picks themselves are irrelevant. I don't think adding money to it changes that.

Come on Mannelly. You really think one game proves that Jay is a different guy and a "solid pillar"? Get outta here...

Now they've brought the mascot for the Schaumburg Boomers, a mute Chicken, into the studio in celebration of the Bears victory.

They seem to think this is hilarious.

spiegs is forcing the mascot to eat chicken. this bit has gone on like 5 minutes which is about 4:55 too long.

I'm still pumped about the win, but I talked to my buddy, who is basically Nas on steroids, and he of course ruined it a little for me. He said such things as "we will completely forget about Peanut Tillman now that we have Fuller," "Cutler played like an MVP," and "If Conte is healthy, he's a Pro Bowl guy."

I have no problem with optimism, but one great game turns people into turds. It deflated me a little. I can't stand uninhibited homerism.

One of the best Bears victories in years and they're talking to a fucking chicken mascot.

Dignified Rube up next. Can't wait to hear how the last time the "Bears" came back to win a game after trailing by two scores in the fourth was 1974 when they ended up making the playoffs. So, naturally, we will be led to believe this nugget contains some sort of wisdom relevant to this season when in fact there couldn't be a more worthless piece of information.

when i saw these graphics of conte and paea i thought to myself... i bet when they took these photos they weren't expecting them to be used in combination with showing how awfult he defense was last year.... i kinda felt it was a bit mean by NBC to do them like that

I can't believe Speigs asked Gould if JoeD was disorganized!! What did you expect Gould to say? "Yes my boss is a fool and we really need better coaching" on the air?!
I understand trying to get out of him what the practices are like but there are better ways to ask. I wish Gould answered "Does Mitch even listen to your broadcasts?"

Agree. Pat played for 16yrs, and the best guest he was able to bring with him is the fucking kicker. This jobshows how much he was respected with the team. If they liked him they would help their friend out at his new job.

They think the guy that bent over and threw him the ball is prime host material.

So, I'd say the answer is "yes".

Didn't really listen too closely... Headline was Urlacher wants to spend more time with family, etc. He said he watches Bears mostly for Tillman & Briggs. He had a lot of great things to say about Peanut and what he means to the team.

Here is an article quoting some of the 670 interview...
