This is nothing I haven't said to Mac in the past and I would say it to Spiegs, but hey, I don't know radio like a real radio guy knows radio.

The furious 5, the Overs unders, the make a fan day.....it's some terrible radio. since the days of 1,2,3! these hosts only contests, bets, are just terrible.

I understand that they fill time and I understand a real contest like King of the Hill would take planning and approval...But ....SO WHAT, PLAN IT, GET THE DAMN APPROVAL AND A PRIZE, GET IT SPONSORED.

Here is a thought...you have a current/ex Bear.....HAVE AN "ASK PAT" session! Callers (Remember them!)...it might be good, it might be funny...it might even be uncomfortable.

All the talk about meetings and planning....and the "furious 5" is what came of it?

I have said to Spiegs and Mitch, if you actually read the board and could filter through the same fools that rip you, you might actually find a good idea! Hey, I do it everyday!

Simply put, that show needs to be much better to continue in its present state! and at this point I will blame Spiegel. he is the senior guy, he is getting the most money, time to do some work for your job.

Host only contest stuff is stupid.

I'd be mildly surprised if this were true.

No way Meatpants makes more $ than the Snapper. The ex Bear is the draw. No one tunes in for Grimace.

Couldn't agree more. Host only contests work when the are lighthearted, seem brief, and have an element of audience participation. Hawk Harrelson's "pick to click" is innocuous enough to be something that you'll either do it with a friend or ignore it completely. Spiegel seems to invest too much into the contest for it to be lighthearted, as though if he doesn't win the result will not be good. It seems to drag out and in the end I adopt a who cares/PTFB response.

Spieggy should take advantage of having a 14 year professional athlete (football) sitting next to him and mine his experiences. At times it seems he can't help himself and his douchiness comes through the airwaves.

What did Spiegs say when you told him this?

He probably wouldn't remember anyways. Wasn't he off his ass on scotch during the draft?

Interesting.

Denial for an alcoholic a power force to reckon with.
