No, it's glorious, glorious food and now I want some because Meat wouldn't stop talking about it! Another day, another show, another time, another....blime. Wednesday so Bears prep, maybe some Bulls. Will the "LOCKER ROOM-GATE" be put to rest or beaten into a bloody pulp? I don't know. Listen or Don't. SomeGuy. |

Wouldnt this then be Day #2 of the "Take Back Browns chicken" I hate Browns chicken, always thought it sucked. Had it like once a week as a kid, parents always picked it up. Not a fan. Of course havent had it in 25 years. |

When I had to go to all the tedious First Communion parties for kids on my mom's side of the family, they always had catering from Brown's. I measure that time of my life in pan after pan after pan of lukewarm mostaccioli. |

I got food poisoning from browns chicken when I was little. I won't eat it, fried chicken, or any meat off the bone. |

Is Big Purple still complaining about this? There's no point tuning in if he is. |

Grimace just said a Browns Chicken rep e-mailed the Score sales staff taunting them. |

I haven't been able to stomach the show lately. On my way back to work from lunch I heard the first part of the segment about highest paid brothers in the NFL. Once one of the guys in the booth couldn't guess anyone Spiegs told them to just turn off their mike and get off the air. I am sure he thought he was joking but it wasn't funny to me in the least. |

It was fine the first dozen times, but it became way too common. Plus the quality of that type of catering always seemed low. |

The whole concept of victory chicken is irritating. I'm not sure if it is because I now associate the term with Spiegel or if it is because I think that chicken as a stand-in for a team winning is lame. I caught a transition a week or two ago and Spiegel signed off with a "Have a good weekend guys and we'll see if there's some chicken here on Monday." I just felt like ripping out his stupid goatee hair by hair. I got issues. |

Grimace arguing with Bernstein saying Cheap Trick is a Chicago band because they played a ton of shows there and were part of the "scene". I guess that would make Motorhead a Chicago band too. They're from Rockford, Grimace. They don't have an album called Chicago. They have an album called Rockford. |

After Bernstein got douchey with his recitation of statistics/surveys/reports/bullshit about how bad Rockford is regarding critical social measures I stopped paying attention. He cites his "sources" or "stats" without reference, but let him read some obscure story, column, or post that he likes and he's quick to cite the author/source. Just remember, this is a guy at the height of his CTE crusade questioned why the NIH (National Institute of Health) should be getting in on the research that was being done in Boston. |

We need statistics to prove how bad Rockford is? You can't just look around? |

Curious Hair wrote: We need statistics to prove how bad Rockford is? You can't just look around? Some folks prefer to hide by couching their arguments, including subjective judgement calls, behind (purportedly) concrete and objective stats and quantifiers, rather than argue a point based on extrapolating sound judgements based on inductive reasoning of one's own form and fashion drawn from prior wisdom and previous experience. That way if/when they're shown to be wrong, they can simply slough that burden off themselves by blaming the (previously) unassailable stats and quantifiers as faulty rather than the argument itself. That kind of thing works if you don't go to the well too often, as well as if there aren't a lot of eyes and ears on your argument, reducing the odds of your getting picked apart by someone equally (or more) clever, or by several folks taking the time to put their coconuts together to deduce why you're a fool. A fella doing it for the better part of a decade on the radio is doomed to fail long term, but by then he might not care anyway, so again, no real way to 'lose'. |

I go over to Boylan for a drum corps show most summers. Loves Park, Cherry Valley, and the east side of town aren't that bad. I mean, there's certainly nothing glamorous, but it doesn't feel appreciably worse than, say, McHenry or DeKalb, where it's some old suburban housing stock and big-box malls out on the edges with nothing downtown. But you can see how if you take a few wrong turns, it gets real bad real fast. I'll always pull for Rockford. As no less an authority and rhetorician than IkeSouth once said, someone should be able to find a use for a city with proximity to big cities and a good deal of natural resources. At least it's not ESTL, though, which is basically a failed state. |
