Well, this is it. The Bears season is done and it looks as if Aaron Rodgers has driven a stake through the heart of the Bears franchise itself. It was one of the worst games I've ever seen and one of the worst loses (if not the worst loss) in Bears history....there should be much to talk about, right?

Wrong.

This thing has been beaten to death for weeks, picked apart and dissected, yet nothing has changed from Day 1 besides all hopes and dreams being smashed to pieces. What can be said anymore? Will the show and station as a whole stop walking the line and just say that Cutler sucks dick, isn't a leader and is the worst signing in Bears history? M&H probably will dance around it, M&M will most likely get into it and B&B will take the side of the McCaskeys or however you spell the name.

This show will now have to transition to the "OTHER SPORTS" and that is where Mannelly will sink or swim or sink a bit and then learn to swim. We shall see, he has shown the willingness to put the work in and try to learn so I'm hopefully. But without a good Bears team to buttress the Other Sports the hosts will be left flapping in the breeze, literally. Now if Rose goes down and the Bulls lose hope than that is REALLY it as the Blackhawks will always be looked at with disdain by the station....and the Blackhawks might suck.

Here we go, folks. Sink or Swim. This will show us the wisdom or folly of Mannelly being put in the chair.

Love,

SomeGuy.

Mannelly is not:
  • A former newspaper guy who can't stop yelling while asking an endlessly long question
  • A former newspaper guy who cracks bad jokes and adds vacuous comments
  • A part-time backup singer who oozes estrogen infused self-unawareness
  • A bigoted dick and windsocking intellectual meatball
  • A human parrot
  • Peter Pan

He's a 14 year former pro athlete, sports fan, beer drinkin'-meat eatin'-heterosexual. His thoughts are fresh, he's happy to have the gig, he's not afraid to call out someone and ask "where did you play your ball?" A southerner who attended Duke University, likes living amongst Yankees, can make friends with the best of them. If you were to have a draft of who you'd want over on the weekend for some beer, chicken wings and TV, he'd be your #1 pick. He will swim because of the quality of sea he is swimming in.

16 year veteran of the NFL. I'll tune in today for a while. I am taking my Bears flag down from the front of my
house tonight and putting the American flag back up for Veterans Day. I don't think the Bears flag will be back until
2015. I have never felt ashamed to fly that thing until last night.

I can't wait to hear Trestman's car ads in a few years. "Hey, if I had more guys like this, I would have won more than three games that final season."

Putting it all on the coaches like he's doing isn't fair though. Bunch of well paid grown ass men on the field getting their asses kicked with no push back too

Pretty interesting stuff. I don't know how good he'll be when he doesn't have the direct insight into the team he does now.

But, the BS about great practices when the team know they weren't is interesting.

I feel reassured knowing that Robbie Gould wants to kick us to a title.

Last 3 weeks same response from Gould. Practice harder , hit the gym. Neither guy challenges him on the response either. Fucking soft.

 I was thinking the same thing. I'm not anti-kicker but hearing the FG guy say that he prepares because he wants to win a championship falls a little flat.

Maybe Brandon Marshall was right.

They're getting chicken from Sycamore?

At least they're getting closer to Fried Chicken Country, where all things are fried and delicious.

Actually, here's a pro-tip on fried chicken transportation - get it fresh from the fryers and put it into an insulated cooler.

It will hold up crispy, juicy, and hot for a good hour, possibly more.

Not entirely shocking an ex-player less than a year out of the lockerroom might anchor his thoughts to a pro-player bias.

Is CoF delivering the chicken from Sycamore?

Yes, I'd also like to stuff Josh McCown into an insulated cooler.

Someone might suggest to dinglenuts Randazzo doing the updates to not mention 'playoffs' in regards to the Bears.

100% agree. If that same shit is going on this year at practice, then the guys know its a joke. The 'vetrans' probably see right thru Trestman's bullshit.

I've gotta tell ya ... I'm significantly more disinclined to disagree with that otherwise meatballish idea than I normally might be.

I think the tipping point was NBC showing Aaron Rodgers standing on the sidelines openly laughing at his opponents' embarrassingly futile efforts coupled with Collinsworth not only helping point it out, but agreeing unapologetically with the sentiment.
