Present.

Spiegs making some passing attempt to corral the meatball callers out of the gate.

The Cubs traded some bum named Lou something for that hot Cardinal pitcher Ernie Broglio ... man how dumb are the Cardinals!

He probably should save the energy for 1pm, when there's a big role reversal and it's Spiegel who tries to ruin the Berns' Cub chub.

Frankly I hope Dan spends 10 minutes ever hour repeating that this more or less fits the with the narrative that has been disseminated since day one in his Slow, Big, Boy, Voice.

I find Pat's Hoody Footy commercial reads to be unintentionally comical. It's almost like he doesn't
realize what he is reading and trying to sell.

"they told you this was going to happen"

"the people I spoke to let me know they're laughing at the Sun-Times in their offices"

yeah...the kind of baseball talk you want.

It's not that I want it; the thought of how many people's teeth will itch over it does bring me a modicum of joy, perhaps even a wry smile.

I noticed he's doing a lot of reads. Probably because he's the onky guy on the station whose voice isn't like nails on a chalkboard.

Well, he needs the practice. He is getting better but still stumbles reading them quite a bit. Just would like a little
voice inflection or emotion when trying to sell sexy jammies for your lady friend on the good ol radio.

Tuned in for like 8 seconds while driving home about an hour ago. Heard Spiegs say "this is a moment. This is bigger than baseball. This...." And I turned it back to music. Can't imagine it's an entertaining show today.

True, but nothing will be a ludicrous as Dan stating that LeBon going back to Cleveland was the biggest sports story ever.

he really is terrible at reads but it is into fun-bad territory. His "whoa" on the hoody footy pajamas makes me laugh every time.

It's a prerequisite for working at the Score that dates back to Mike North.

heh, I too was being sarcastic.

The fellas were out of their depth in the first hour yesterday when they actually had back-to-back good callers who knew the Sox farm system. One had hypotheticals for more 'win now' moves by the Sox. To their credit they didn't dismiss it, but they did fall back on 'man, that Dyan Vicaedo is real bad, negative WAR' as a response. They'll be more comfortable talking about Cubs planning today, since no caller can have an idea that hasn't already been in Theo's proprietary box.

I'm not even sure that's a bad thing, since callers trade ideas are indeed terrible. Callers are in general the worst part of any show. But what's even worse is the B&B half-assed reporting of what the team is doing presented as irrefutable fact instead of commentary/analysis on the actual deeds.

I tuned in while in the car earlier and there were long stretches without hearing snapper say anything. I wondered if he was even in the studio. Not good.

Except Brandmeier's show. I enjoy when he has a loon on, and he then has people calling in to talk to the caller.

This is specifcally what I thought when I wrote the post. The "whoa" makes me chuckle everytime.

jeez, just heard the Rozner 'interview' and the first 5 minutes were spent vocally subtweeting Gordon Wittenmeyer.
