The Sun-Times writer wondered out loud why was it ok for the Cubs to lose 3 years in a row under Theo's plan but under Hendry it was intolerable despite the fact the Hendry regime brought the Cubs some great teams prior. "Meat" disagreed and was 100% in with the current plan but understood what Morrisey was saying. |

So, its OK to go for it and if you dont win, then have a shit team for 2-3 years while you have to pay big money - but you cant build a team for 3 years? Spiegs really wimped out there. All buddies now. |

I thought they beat him up a little and I agree with Morrisey that the Bernstein's of the world have somehow made it a debate about intelligence. |

Its the Smart people team, but as I said. we dont want him. The crosstown series this year is known as "THE BERNSTEIN CUP" losers get him as a fan. |

He scoffed to Berns about how Morrissey didn't find the Cubs 'interesting'. Spiegs (paraphrased): Isn't it interesting to watch smart people make decisions? I mean, I suppose it is, but probably more interesting to watch not-dogshit baseball for entire summers. Then Bernstein tried to follow up with the usual "THIS IS WHAT THEY SAID THEY WOULD DO" which was so obviously not the point that even Spiegel called him out on it. |
