speigal came off looking bad in this argument too... and sadly bernstein's explanation for marshall stance change makes sense to me.... he SHOULD stop telling us the owners/phillips wont meddle.... because they clearly would like to

Dont think he came off that bad in the Marshall issue, but this really isnt about the Bears and the semi sources, its about hatred between 2 guys that work together and should have some type of ability to work together.

This is Murph v Terry stuff right now, but in this case neither is looking to hide , like both Terry and Murph have for 12 years from each other.

Was Spiegle perfect in going after him? No. Could have done better. But it was good in parts. There was some cutting shots if you heard it. Best the SCORE has to do it. He's willing and not afraid. Total oppisite of Larry who kisses the B&B ring.

Drinky? No. He's a half wit. A dumb ass. He tries but it devolves into gibberish nonsensical talk on his part. He's just not a sharp knife. He's scared and too dumb to challenge THE SCORE's king.

So, while it's not the best, Spiegel is Braveheart.

its pretty clear bernstein judges speigal by his shitty ratings and does not view him as a threat/equal collegue... almost as if speigal is not important enough to even worry about

I think I've said it before. It's gonna take a new GM at THE SCORE to kill Bernstein. Somebody with an ego that doesn't fear the Bernstein. Somebody that wants to make his mark. Maybe somebody that has friends that he wants to help. Help if it's a devout Christian, let's be honest. Somebody who takes offense to the Christian bashing.

Somebody who says, I don't need this thing. I can do equal, if not better.

So Bernstein is safe with Mitch. Bernstein is Mitch's boss. That's what that has become. Might be with the next guy, but it depends on who that is.

It's pretty clear that Mitch loves Bernstein - otherwise he wouldn't get away with the stuff he does. It will get to a point that management won't put up with it. In the end, Bernsein will resign in a huff - the more he has to deal with callers, Speigel, and other things that make him realize he has failed to live up to his potential and all he is is just a sports talk show host - he will become more and more obnoxious and belligerent.

Bernstein's demise will be much like North's - thinking they are so big that they do things to the detriment of the staff and employees (North taking furniture and locking it in his office, him getting a far bigger office, etc..). Bernstein is getting to that level of "I'm why people listen to this station" level of hubris.

I got Spiegs. He showed genuine passion, but Spiegs came off poorly. For those who are annoyed by B&B's false sources and unwarranted attacks against callers and sports figures, that was really the thrust of Matt's complaint.

100% disagree. His main point was the disrespect Bernstein shows to colleagues. The condescending attitude and lack of camaraderie between team mates. Then Bernstein responded with I don't care and don't be thin-skinned. That's not a "win" for Dan. He showed his ass. The incessant twitter blocking, no comments on articles, cutting off or hanging up on callers is thick skinned? No. Spiegel got him to show his ass.

I give Spiegs plenty of credit for trying to go after Bernsie. I didn't get to listen yesterday but at least
he didn't sit there and let Dan get away with being a nerdy bully. Was Mannelly in studio yesterday?

Wasnt even close to the main thrust of his statement. He used that as an example of a disagreement, the issue was he tried to talk to Dan about was shitting on people, specifically Spiegs himself, even though he put himself in the category of fellow employees.

The difference is Dan is an asshole to people for seconds on a phone call and then hangs up on them, he doesnt know them, wont meet most of them, it's bascially an act, which is a problem I have with the show. The 5'3" lil jewish guy from Deerfield talking tough doesnt exactly ring tough guy in my view.

For a co worker to tell you that he basically doesnt appreciate you calling him fat and your respnse is "I don't give a shit" and then adds, "it has made me succesful", really not sure how much more of a dick of a humna being you could be to someone.

For the record, Mitch is a huge fat ass as well, must be a guy Bernstein despises too.

Correct, Danny is insulting Spiegs without directly calling him a fat ass. Nobody can say Dan said "_____"

I thought Spiegs came off fine in his attack on Bernstein. Sure he sounded a little petulant but that's because he was giving it to Bernstein the exact way that Bernstein gives it to callers. He cut him off repeatedly, he put the pressure on him, he changed the topic of conversation; classic Bernsie moves. Up until the part where he made it personal, Spiegs had Bernstein on the ropes. When the convo was about a legit issue, Bernstein was stumbling through his words like Terry. Spiegs should have kept the conversation about Bernsie's "sources" vs the truth, once it gets personal it's way to easy to pick Spiegs apart for his obvious flaws. I would be interested to see Mannelly get more involved in this because he's a lot harder to attack on both a personal and professional level.
