Goff talking about the fact he listened to Mully on the way in and didnt agree with some things Mully said about Rose...and you could heard Spiegs in the background "Noooooooo"

This is suppossed to be the fans station...let it all flow...Mully is a big boy and will have his say, dont need to direct all the venom at Bernstein.

One thing I can say and I think Spiegs would agree, the Score sounds like a bad team these days. No love loss between anyone on the air, so if thats how it is going to be , let it flow...lets make some good radio out of it....

They won't go where the day takes them. Goff wanted real bad to do the race talk on Josh Gordon vs. Manziel and Josh Hamilton but hemmed and hawed. Pull the trigger and do what you want. That is better radio.

I think a part of the Score success in its golden age was that the hosts liked each other, hung out and could share some stories of their carousing with the fans.

I am no expert, but North and Murphy were well liked?

Murph was liked. North was a rock star.

Oh, no, definitely not, but fans mostly seemed to like him.

Well I was addressing GD's comments about hosts liking one another. It doesn't seem like there was any intra station love for North and Murph.

I don't think the other guys hated North. I think they may have wondered why he was the star when they were "professional" broadcasters and he was a Park Districk hack. But that misses the entire point. He was the star because he was as dumb as the average listener. People listened to North because they agreed with him. They were him. People listen to bernstein to hate him. Ultimately, it doesn't matter as long as they're listening.

North used to hang out with Terry, Dan and Jiggs in Edison Park on a seemingly weekly basis.

North loved Muphy.

The one guy everyone hated was Shaer.

Yeah, you could even tell by the way they cross-promoted the commercials. North would do spot for bachelor parties at Hawthorne, and then a few days later you would hear the Heavy Fuel Crew do a spot for The Butcher Shop/Babe's that would poke fun at North.

I also remember North and Shaer having a sports trivia contest (can't remember who challenged who) and North came out on top.

Overall, it just seemed more fun...not really.important.radio.

Bernsy lost me with his comment a few years back that mentioned something along the lines of "every host of our 3 main shows has at least a bachelors degree" or something, as if that matters.

It doesn't matter and I thought Mac never finished Ball State? Maybe he went back later on.

Goff sounds like Hood to me. A slightly less knowledgeable version of Hood. I like it so far.

Yesterday they briefly talked about female R&B singers and Goff said someone texted and said "This isn't VH1, talk about sports." Goff started to say something about "people's real feelings coming out..." and the texter being racist ( ) but Spiegel chimed in and said the same thing would happen if Mac spent too much time talking about Rush.

Yeah maybe they will grow to balance each other? As for Nas' comment yes he always reminded me of Hood but I like Hood more.

He was a star because he was as loud as he seemed dumb. He was the first FOTS and made sure that people wanted to come back for more. North would regularly be on TV in other markets whenever they wanted the "Chicago" angle. He openly embraced the Bulls during their championship runs, unlike a few other hosts. He was both available and he wanted interviews, and Jesse got them.

Vince Coleman imparting knowledge to the masses. Decent interview.

He would be better as a solo act. He's constantly steamrolling Spiegel and overtalking everyone they have on the show.

Yes. Just as when he started in Atlanta. Hopefully it will fade.

I listened for the first time today. I enjoyed the show and will listen again. I really have been away from sports talk for awhile except for Doug and O'B.

Goff, Biggie is talking about you. Don't be afraid to call out the ignorance and idiocy come 1:00. There's just too damn much out there to continue to ignore, both Goff and Spiegs. If the shoe were on the other foot they would be taking you guys apart.

I noticed. I didn't like Spiegel driving a show. Hopefully he'll stop talking over everyone soon.

Goff's over reliance on the "OH MAN, I'M A BROTHER AND PEOPLE THINK IT'S "URBAN" UP IN HERE" shtick was old several years ago.

Puke.
