Let me teeach you how to steal a base and go first to 3rd... First, be real fast! Next, steal the bases! Always very tough for guys with superior ability to teach guys how to do things. Not saying he cant, but didnt the Astros get rid of Coleman as 1B coach? Many times guys like coleman just like to be around the game, they dont end up being great coaches. Many , many , many guys fit that bill....jury is still out on Hinske as an example. |

The case was eventually dropped for lack of evidence. Turns out that they, along with David Cone, had quadruple-teamed her and she later regretted it. --Threw a lighted firecracker into a crowd of people at the Dodger Stadium parking lot. A young girl was hurt and Vince had to serve 200 hours of Community Service. (Eric Davis was driving the getaway car) --As noted, missed the 1985 World Series after getting rolled up in the tarp machine --Whacked Gooden with a golf club in the clubhouse. Gooden had to miss a start. |

Coleman and Henderson are further down the line. They got caught a lot more. Then there are guys you may not consider base stealers who weren't/aren't as prolific but who almost never got/get caught, like Carlos Beltran and even Mike Trout. |

raines probably from a SABR perspective, but he never came close to coleman in attempts and he was on base way more often. If you told coleman to only pick his spots he'd a been 80 for 85. what does that prove? you gotta get 100 to be even in the conversation. |
