ah, no. He actually strikes me as a sane and calm guy who talks about race in a nuanced and honest way--the idea that "loving talking about race" is a problem is fucked up on spec. There's a big difference between finding racism in everything (which I definitely don't hear Goff doing) and simply acknowledging that race is a big part of the sports/pop culture world. Oh, and that he happens to be a "Gateway Brother" for a lot of us white folk who may not actually have in-person relationships with many black guys. |

He acknowledges differences, nothing wrong with that, it is what it is, dont think he talks about it in a negative light at all. J Goff is a good people, that doesnt mean a better show couldnt be produced from the product they are cranking out. I like that J Goff seems to be driving the show at this point. Tuning in tuesdays at 12 for Joe Maddon is a reason to tune in and a solid addition, but its not something the hosts did, but it is a start. |
