I have a friend who's a combat veteran and he's been diagnosed with PTSD and suffers from anxiety attacks. He went to his doctor to see if they'd prescribe medicinal marijuana to help (he self-medicates and knows it works) and the doctor refused, but was quite happy to prescribe him some pills...

What was the Dr's reasoning?

What state does your friend reside in?

He didn't tell me specifics of the visit. He just told me he asked for medicinal weed and the doctor suggested a different type of treatment, which was prescribing him some pill-form anti-anxiety medication.

He lives in Illinois...

PTSD is not one of the conditions that are eligible for medical marijuana. It is one of 11 conditions that have been recommended to the Illinois medical marijuana program.

This is the same guy who told a "funny" vacation story in which he drank so much at the hotel pool that he fell on the way back to his room (where his wife and son were waiting for him) and passed out on the stairs for a while, right?

I'm sure there are some people who party like that, but it's not rampant. Jerry loved it, but he has been dead for twenty years.
