The first 3 taken as a trilogy are actually pretty good. It's a solid character arc. 4 was a comic book/ montage movie and 5 should have never existed. If it was just 1-3 with maybe Rocky Balboa as an epilogue it would be fine with me.

I think the story's natural ending was him winning the rematch. 3 was interesting but felt like stretching the story. Rocky to the worst movie's list is imminent

Hipster opinion. Guarantee he's never actually seen the movie, he's just heard people make fun of 4 and 5. I wouldn't doubt this is a regurgitated Bernstein thought.
