At the risk of entering Beardown speculation territory...
The other day Matt was talking about how he and Reuben went shopping for a pet and came home with a snake. There was never a mention of The Biscuit. It didn't sound like she went along to the pet store, wasn't involved in the decision nor did she (apparently) offer an opinion on bringing home a snake. It struck me as just a bit odd. Then it occurred to me that I hadn't heard him mention her at all in any context recently, although his son is regularly discussed. There were also a couple of "nanny" references. Maybe she's been mentioned and I just wasn't paying attention. I also realize this is none of my business but she was frequently referenced on his show in the past.

He likely is a bit more sober when hanging with the sandwich and less by the time he and biscuit get free time so he likely doesn't have much recollection of time spent with buttermilk.

Popeye's "drop" biscuits were better before they went to the generic "puck-style" back when.

I wondered the same thing when I heard that.

Thought I was the only one having this thought. Did a little interweb snooping and checked out the biscuits tweets, last real mention of Herr Spiegel in a loving way seems to be back around March. A lot of job talk since then. Wonder if some of the Ramblin Grimace vacation time has been spent on care taking of the Rueben. Please keep in mind, this is the Lucy Van Pelt .05 cent gumshoe detective agency at work here.

I believe Spiegel was spending nights at poker rooms before he had the kid.

The lifestyle he lived always seemed strange to me for a newly married guy. I understand you get to still do some things on our own but I wouldn't expect to be married very long if I was spending half my week in poker rooms and singing gigs in a cover band that isn't really a cover band. Add in a kid and it's basically just a countdown to divorce.
