Love Rizzo just telling Spiegs..."See the ball, hit the ball....its as simple as that"

Spiegs "Seeing the rotation of the ball, seeing the seems"

Rizzo " No, not that simple"

Thought I was gonna get a 'Due you work out?" LOL

That reminds me of an old Dahl story he told. After a Cubs-Giants big game somehow Krukow ends up at his house partying I am sure. They are shooting pool and Dahl is amazed at what a good shooter he is. When he asks him abou that Krukow says "its a ball and a stick isn't it". Some players are pretty cool.

Got a little better, think Spiegs needed to lead off with the Music thing...always good to connect on some level before the BS questions of 'Hows camp been?"

I remember an SI interview from my youth where Gwynn and Boggs sat down to discuss the philosophy of hitting. I appreciate that they put that much thought into it but on some level, you cannot teach a player's bat to hit the ball.

As I remember it, when things were going well with hitting, it wasn't like you even saw the ball. It was like Luke putting on the blaster helmet to practice with the light saber. You just felt it and the ball found the bat.

I watch the first 2-3 innings of about 20 Giants games a year on MLB.tv. Krukow is one of my favorite color guys for local TV broadcasts. Manages to be thoughtful and simple at the same time.

I remembering listening to Moose at his bar at 35th and Laramie....saying he hit a home run of Early Wynn once. Getting back in the dugout Maris and Mantle asked him what he hit? In typical Moose style he said how the fuck do I know they throw 'em and I hit 'em

Yup, I know they are great natural hitters and have a god given ability to hit, they also recognize pitches earlier than anyone else, but for the most part...its just hitting.

Theo even makes Spiegs and Goff sound cohesive.

I love Pedro but he is not above suspicion either.
