A good trainer can't help a slow horse but a shitty trainer can wreck a fast one.

This looks like a power struggle between the racing manager Wohlers who is also a trainer and Borell. Wohlers won.

Is suspect the horse may have lost.

I'm going to say they hand the horse to a heavy California guy, like Mandella or Baffert. I think Baffert has already trained for McIngvale. So maybe he knows how crazy Mattress Mack is and won't take a horse from him, but I think most guys would take a horse like this regardless. Anyway, if they give the horse to a premium trainer to prep for the Malibu all this dies down pretty quickly. It's hard to complain about a guy moving a horse from Maria Borell to Bob Baffert.
