i've just put my picks in; i did it last week too but i didn't really pay attention...i wonder how many times they'll do this.

of all the races, a lot of them looked like favorites...so i went chalk on a lot of them. i'll probably get like...2 or 3 right. i think picking 5 correctly is pretty damn good, and you get a nice prize for that too.

i used some equibase numbers to help me pick but that doesn't always bode well.

oh well, it's free.

I know it is all part of the sport, but I get annoyed when you have a fourteen horse field and a legitimate early speed horse that has to put up with two 99-1 horses that are going to burn out a quarter mile before the end of the race and ruin it for the good horse. It's like if someone from the Phillies slides hard into Bryant and knocks him out of commission for a week. You have to play who you have to play, but I'd rather see a field of eight good horses than eight good horses and six more with owners that want to pay to have fun.
