Can anyone beat Audible at under 2/1 on the M/L?

Promises Fulfilled and Strike Power are good horses, but neither have the late turn-of-foot as Audible. Catholic Boy's 1 1/8 mi. time was not great.

Storm Runner would have to rebound big-time after the poor result in the FOY. An allowance race two back shows he has speed, when he beat Mississippi.

Fun Facts:

Three of the last five Florida Derby winners went on to win the Kentucky Derby: Always Dreaming (2017), Nyquist (2016), and Orb (2013)

Todd Pletcher has won three of the last four Florida Derbys and has Holy Bull Stakes winner Audible in this year’s race.

I am against Audible in this spot. His latest works have been desultory. I think Hofburg and Mississippi have big chances in here. The race figures to set up well for Catholic Boy, but as you pointed out, he's a little short on figs.

I will take Promises Fulfilled. It's going to take a lot to beat Audible, but I liked how he finished the Fountain of Youth.

3-1 is a little steep but he has upside in this race in only his third in a route after an impressive G2 win. The only horse that's come close to Audible in speed figures is Promises Fulfilled. Like the pedigree of former Preakness winner, Shackleford. He's Dale Roman's ace and Roman wants him to go to the lead. Has the stamina to go wire to wire.

I would think an exacta with Audible and Promises Fulfilled makes a lot of sense.

I like Albarado, but you don't run a 1 1/8 mi. race like a sprint. That 21 and change opening quarter overloaded Promises Fulfilled. He had nothing left by the quarter pole.

I don't know why you have to be so quick on the pace there dueling with Strike Power at all. If the horse had stamina, then the strategy should have been to have let him stalk and save him for the stretch.

It was clear that Audible was the best horse in the race.

HAPPY EASTER ALL!
