Lecomte at Fairgrounds Racetrack in New Orleans

Big card and the weather seems to be holding. The big race is the 14th which sets up a contest between two early leaders on the Kentucky derby trail-5-Epicenter and 3-Pappacap. Both excellent horses but I have a personal desire to see Pappacap become a top horse going forward…pace seems to me to be questionable with the 6-Cyberknife and the 1-Surfer Dude may push the pace, or it may fall on Pappacap to take the lead and I think he finishes best of all...The runners will be awarded 10,4,2, and 1 points for the Derby respectively for a top four finish

3-6-8-1-5

Some Horses on the undercard have caught my attention

Race 13-Huge return matchup between 2-Mandaloun and the 3-Midnight Bourbon...Mandaloun has Florent Geroux and has looked strong in workouts. Midnight Bourbon is cutting back in distance, getting Lasix for the 1st time (a big angle for some) and adding blinkers…should be quite a battle Mandaloun finished second in the disputed Kentucky Derby behind Medina Spirit and has won over $1.6 million in just eight races. I've got Midnight Bourbon on top

Race 2 the 2-Art Heist finished 4th last out behind the aforementioned Cyberknife…has been training lights out in the morning…hope the 7/2 morning line stays, but I’m doubtful

Race 12-Two Emmys :D is the class here having won a Grade 1 at Arlington then coming in 2nd in the G3 Sycamore and is cutting back in distance...always have liked this guy...however the pace will be blistering...and I think you need to include a deep closer to fit the pace and that horse may be the 8-Monarchs Glen

8-6-4-2

I'm against the favorites in the LeComte. I do not like Pappacap here. I like Assmussens colt a bit better but will play against. Tralfagr and Cyberknife for me.

I'm passing on Mandaloun today. If he beats me off the layoff and at a less than optimal distance, so be it. I'll be using Midnight Bourbon and Sprawl.
