Hawthorne tends to soup the course up for the race by letting it dry out. Consequentially, it tends to support speed types. Witness last year, when the horses basically merry-go-rounded the track, and the (probably) superior closing type Denis of Cork finished fifth (notably, both the 3rd and 5th finishers in the Kentucky Derby last year came from the Illinois Derby). Perfect Song is the only horse that has run out in front during a race with a legitimate pace, and he has the quality to finish the deal. That's where I'm going here.

$10 win 6
$5 exacta 6/3-8
$1 tri 6/2-8-9

Out of a tiny acorn grows a Giant Oak

I have a feeling this might be one of the better preps for this year - Musket Man looked good int he win and Giant Oak ran a nice race but couldn't beat the top dog.
