We can call it here. Rizzo is up 3 seasons to 2.

Over that 5 season stretch, Rizzo has a .902 OPS compared to Abreu's .873.

RIP

All the bouquet tossing this year with Abreu and he still won't put up a 2 WAR season(AGAIN!)

IMU waits until ABRU goes on the DL before bumping this thread. Very sad.

He.s at 1.9 WAR right now, and will likely get that over 2 when he returns from the DL. And his career WAR numbers are; 5.8, 3.8, 2.7 and 4.7. There is no "AGAIN" about it, Caller Roberta.

They both are fairly close in terms of PA this year. Rizzo has missed time as well.

Rizzo was already ahead, and if you understand how OPS works, Rizzo could have regressed while Abreu would not have had the opportunity at the time.

Another year, another season that has Rizzo well ahead of Abreu in OPS.

Light hitting Abreu is in the bottom half of all starting 1B in OPS. He also has 50 (!) strikeouts to only 15 walks through this point. .318 OBP!

He must kill so many White Sox rallies.

Abreu has 6 more extra base hits than Rizzo does since the start of the 2014 season.

If he's light hitting, we'd better start calling Rizzo by Antoinette.

You can be a fan of Antoinette. That's cool. She is a pretty good player in her own right.

Light hitting Abreu is 41st in slugging to date. Though to be fair, it is difficult to match the slugging percentage of perennial power bats such as Tommy La Stella, Brandon Lowe, Ketel Marte and Michael Brantley.

Meanwhile the Cubs have 4 players with slugging percentages at least 45 points higher than Abreu.

Antoinette Rizzo leads the Cubs in slugging, and is 11th in all of baseball.

It was never even close. Only loony tunes though Abreu was as good as Rizzo.

I think Abreu always had most in common with Schwarber. Decent rookie seasons before they were figured out.

It looks like Rizzo may have finally established that he is better. It took him MANY years though.

"light hitting" Abreu now on pace for 42 HRs and 150 RBI.

Safe to say that IMU could not have picked a worse time to start shitting all over Jose in this thread

Also, split 1B/DH. He has 12 HR as a 1B.
