let's see...R8:

TVG Equibase picks:

#1 - Deauville 4-1
#2 - Highland Sky (long shot) 8-1
#3 - Call Provision (long shot) 10-1

the reasoning isn't all that convincing. here are the slots:

#1 - Toughest 'Ombre 30-1
#2 - Ralis 20-1
#3 - Applicator 50-1
#4 - Highland Sky 8-1
#5 - Surgical Strike 15-1
#6 - Camelot Kitten 5-1
#7 - Long Island Sound 7-2
#8 - Airoforce - 10-1
#9 - Beach Patrol 12-1
#10 - Humphrey Bogart 5-1
#11 - Aquaphobia 20-1
#12 - Call Provision 10-1
#13 - Deauville 4-1

Deauville has the highest Equ class at 107. Long Island Sound has second highest at 103.

Race 8: Going with Applicator at 50-1 to shock the world. Bet him to show.

$2 Exacta Box: Deauville #13 keyed one and two with 3, 6, 7, 9, 10, 12 .

All I have to say is WTF?

How many times do I hit the winner and miss the place? And I had Beach Patrol the #3.

Highland Sky was on my radar but went in favor of Call Provision.

You know how to handicap...not to bet

Nice hit, spmack! Of course my guy ran an extra sixteenth of the mile. But that's racing. Honestly, if I hadn't bet this morning that was probably a layoff race for me. I think all four contenders went off too short.

Yes. I'm kicking myself for not having bet Deauville simply to win. I've done that a number of times, where I pick the winner and try to be too cute with the exacta and trifectas. It's better to win and win less than not to win at all.

What about Applicator? Ran a hell of a race for a 100-1 shot.

Post subject:  Re: Some Big Races at Belmont 07/09

Rube i wimped out with that one. Just did a show bet and won a limp amount that made me ashamed. But why don't you just make a separate win bet and put a little more on it so you can fuck around with the mad scientist bets like trifectas and shit. No shame in single bets...except show bets. Like i do.
