I don't think this is as clear cut as everyone thinks it is.

Macgregor has never faced anyone with Mayweather's speed, while Mayweather hasn't faced anyone with Macgregor's power. All it would take is one good jab by Macgregor, and it's lights out. Mayweather's strategy will be to jab and move and not let Macgregor get too close.

Both fighters have agreed to smaller gloves, making the fight more interesting. I don't think Mayweather will do as well as he did against Hatton, with the American being ten years older now. Macgregor will be able to take any punishment that Mayweather dishes out, and probably has an edge in conditioning, too.

I see the fight as being even, and would like MacGregor at +350. Boxing is unpredictable. Remember Buster Douglas? This is not a good spot for Mayweather. He has everything to lose.

Wrong.

Mayweather can't be hit. I thought Hatton had the best chance against him, and even he couldn't do damage to Mayweather. I don't care how hard you throw, if you can't land them cleanly, it won't matter.

I'll be watching though!

I'll be watching too, but i don't consider this real sport. It harkens back to some of the weird shit in the 70s like Riggs-King or Evel Knievel or Victor the Boxing Bear.

Nope, it's quite silly. I gave up on MMA when it became a rolly pollie fest on the mat. I'd rather watch Big Ten wrestling than that. I am still a rabid boxing fan.

I'm sure I'll watch. Depending on how long the prefight is I might be drunk enough to enjoy it.

My biggest problems will be staying sober and awake.

Well there is the possibility of being so drunk and tired I fall asleep. Depends on how the day goes.

Guys train for decades and get the the top of the boxing world and they cant hit Mayweather.

Id love to see MacGregor catch him, but it seems like the longest of long shots that he lands even one strong clean punch

I'm pretty sure that if Mayweather would have lost to Ronda Rousey that Macgregor has a chance.

I expect MacGregor to land about 5 punches a round

McGregor outboxed Nick Diaz and bloodied his face in their first fight, even though Diaz had a height advantage. He landed a ton of punches. Diaz hardly laid a hand on Irishman with his own, hitting mostly air, as McGregor dodged and weaved himself out of the way.

No question in my mind that McGregor can hold his own. It's about whether he can do it past three rounds and not lose form.

This is like Rocky vs. Apollo Creed.

MMA is not boxing.

Yes, but if you concentrate just on the boxing in what MacGregor did to Diaz, it's clear the man has skills and instinct as a boxer.

As much as Mayweather is a great figher, no one can argue that he's the same man at 40 that he was at McGregor's 29. Ali got killed when he got older (by Holmes), so did Holmes when he fought Tyson. The older Tyson lost to Lennox Lewis. Joe Louis at 37 years old lost to Marciano at 28, though Marciano was the underdog. The one fighter that did reasonably well when he got older was Foreman, but Foreman is a freak of nature.

Imo, if there was even a 0.000000001% chance he could lose, Floyd never agrees to the fight.

I saw Macgregor doing bag work on video.

I had considered watching before I saw that.

He boxed before he got into MMA, he's got more power in his left hand than any guy Floyd ever fought.

I'd rather see triple G beat the piss out of Floyd, he won't fight him, he knows he'll lose so he's banking on embarrassing CM... Which might happen, I think it will be a bad fight, Floyd will run n hug the whole fight, win on points.

Tilted Kilt in Oakbrook is contemplating showing the fight for $29 a ticket. I spoke with them on the phone tonight.

The owner hasn't made up his mind yet, but they have been getting calls about it. If they can get half occupancy, they will show it.

So call them and tell them you're interested. Beats paying $100 plus for the pay-per view.

I'll be at Gately most of the Day next Saturday.

This fight will end in a Floyd split decision win no matter how awful Macgregor boxes. That way they can make even more on a rematch.

I went to the pub to see the Tyson Lennox Lewis fight. Had a great time.

I'm talking about stealing it on the internet. I'll find it somewhere.

I just learned the person who was going to be bugging me the most to order, and who I was going to make pay for 50% if he wanted it that bad, is going to be out of town. Now I have a second chance to think about it. Going to be in Chicago that day for my nephew's birthday so that might play a role too.

True, but he could make money off a fight with another tomato can if necessary.

Floyd isn't 49-0 by accident.
