Post subject:  Baseball Week 2

It's a long season so I figured it would be better to break it up weekly.

Went 5-4 in my postings here.

Orioles -130 against Detroit

I am keying on Cabrera this year to have a very good year. He had a nice game last time, although walks were his undoing again. The Orioles get to face Chad Durbin, who is the replacement for Rogers in the rotation. I don't think the Tigers even have confidence in Durbin, and I certainly do not.

Mariners -140 against Cleveland

I especially like this if Cleveland wins Game 1 of this DH. Take Hernandez at this level while you can. Within the next few starts the hype will be sending this guy back to a -200 pitcher even on the road.

Pirates -120 against Cardinals

Cubs -150 against Astros

I wanted to take an early look at any AL pitcher switching leagues this year. So far the crossovers have been pretty good.

Yankees at Twins OVER 10.5

The Piranhas are especially dangerous at home and Pavano is like red meat in the Amazon for them. On the other side I have two words: Sidney Ponson. Yanks may put up double digits on their own.

1-0 on the season:

Cubs ML

Woody Williams is 1-6 with a 6.04 ERA and 1.48 career WHIP in 44.2ip at Wrigley..

Mariners-Indians get cancelled again. I have liked both games in that DH for three days now and cannot play it. I was on Cleveland on Friday when the game was delayed one strike before it could become official. That is worse than losing because of a 9th inning home run.

NYY-Minnesota OVER 10-1/2, -120
I had a winner on saturday and then got off it before game time. Should have trusted my first instincts. I agree with Dolphin today. The Yankees look like a good over team because their pitching absolutely blows, but their bats are warm. Playing in the homer dome won't hurt.

DAMON 21 FOR 55 .382
MATSUI 12 FOR 32 .375 2HR
CANO 4 FOR 8 .500 2HR
ABREU 7 FOR 21 .333 2HR
PHELPS 5 FOR 14 .357 1HR

OVERALL YANKEES: 415 AB, 136 H, .328 AVE, 22HR, 76RBI, 53BB, 68K

I am off to a funeral this morning, but I like one early game. Time permitting, I will take another look at the card later, and post what I like. I like the Cubs, but -155 is a lot to lay. Laying over -150 is a good way to lower your bankroll.

4/9/07

Boston -1.5 (+110) 2*

6-7 after a bad day yesterday.

Royals +160 at Blue Jays

Greinke is an ace quality pitcher when he has his head on straight...and he seems to have it on straight right now.

Atlanta -230 against Nationals

230 is a lot of wood but it's the Nationals. I also think Hudson is back

Boston -180 against Mariners

Angels +150 at Indians on neutral field

The 150 seems like an awfully big number to be giving for a team that has not played in a week and is not at home. I know it is Sabathia but I have a feeling he will be a little rusty. I normally don't like Santana on the road but this seems like a great value. Mariners showing signs of the rust in giving up 4 in the first inning.

Thanks Bobby Jenks. I had the Sox straight up tonight, and in a parlay. I knew it was over when the lead off man got on. Jenks has nothin right now, and that curve is just hanging there waiting to get blasted.

Cardinals-Pirates UNDER 8

Red Sox-Mariners UNDER 8.5

White Sox-A's UNDER 9

Ozzie has the B team out today and they are going up against a lefty. Runs should be scarce.
