spmack declared Justify the winner three weeks ago and now you a month before the race picking a guy who ran on a juiced track in the desert. You guys are allowed to wait until May 5, 2018 to decide, you know.

I don't hate Mendelssohn and I'm certainly not trying to talk you off him. I would just say that I watched the last two weeks of Dubai and in all the dirt races, once someone got on the lead they were gone. There's no doubt there was a huge bias favoring the front. Still, it was an impressive performance. I agree that Thunder Snow is a serious horse and Mendelssohn looks great when you compare their respective fractions from Saturday's races. I just don't think he's going to be able to grab an uncontested lead in Louisville.

I think this is the most interesting and wide open Derby in years.

Mendlessohn is a Scat Daddy son, like Flameaway. It's a good year for Scat Daddy horses.

McKenzie has had a mishap. Baffert has signaled won't run in the Derby, aiming for Preakness.

I guess that just leaves him with Solomini? Baffert will not be headlining.

Did you forget about Justify? Also, after watching Solomini's last race in the Rebel multiple times, I'm not so quick to rule him out as a serious Derby contender. He obviously has some issues. Whether they're physical or just a matter of the colt being green, I don't know, but if Baffert gets him straightened out, he has to be reckoned with. He never quit chasing Magnum Moon even though he was clearly having trouble.

You're right about Solomini. Got caught behind Titled Ready with no where to go, but was still charging late once he got a clear path. He is a good horse that might have won that race, had he gotten a better trip. Not to be underestimated.

I think you have to take another look at Good Magic in the Derby. If he was four or five lengths better than Solomini in the B.C. Juvenile, then he's a lot of horse. Just had a bad trip in the Fountain of Youth when he got caught 5-6 wide at the quarter-pole behind Strike Power. He was flying down the stretch and closed a few lengths on the leader, Promises Fulfilled,. to get third at five back.

Fuckface, barrel-chested son of a former Derby winner, won the richest of all Kentucky Derbies by eight lengths yesterday at historic Churchill Downs.

A crowd estimated by track officials at 105,000 saw the son of Gorgeous Heavycock make a hollow shambles of the 72d running of the Kentucky Derby, pulling away with every ragged breath as he churned up Heartbreak Highway to an easy victory.

They said that Fuckface had no chance, much like father Heavycock's supposed surefire loss to Mister Nipples, but 'Cock took the gold, the glory, and the roses 10 years ago, as now has his chestnut of a son. Jockey Mewton Cumpuddle turned him loose coming around that bend for home, Fuckface on the hurry for the win.

Sweeping along the inside, he rushed past the front-running Frankenpickle as if he were standing still and everyone in that roaring mass of humanity at Churchill Downs knew the race was over.

The turned their attention to second place, where Frankenpickle had a battle on his hands, making it by a head over the lusty efforts of Hooverville Rim Job.

Then back of them came the people's choice, the winter-book favorites, Lord Taintbutter and Tranny Gamble. Behind them, strung out some 20 lengths back up the track, came Almond Dick, Frothmistress, Perfect Dollop, Fecal Treacle, Dartholemew Nuggets, and last of all, Pleasure Wife.

From first to last there was a gap of 29 lengths.

Bred on the vast acres of Pap "Daddy" Donalds along the gulf coast of Texas, Fuckface became the first Texas-bred horse to win the Derby.

In the future, please confine your homoerotic fiction to the Cubs Section.
