Several big names in the Malibu Stakes today at S.A., like McKinzie, Axelrod, Solomini, and Ax Man. Doesn't look like an easy race to handicap, though, unless you think that McKinzie is due for a bounce-back in familiar California territory after the poor showing in the Classic. He still has a significant speed advantage, but his early pace figures do not stack up against some of the other horses for this sprint race at 7f. Expect Calexman, Copper Bullet, Nero and Bobby's Wicked One to be on the lead, but none of them has stand-out speed. Should be a decent betting race with a 16 horses field. |

I think Beach View has a chance at a nice price. Also, I will be trying to beat the Bafferts in the 2yo MSW. |

JORR's Battle of Midway is running in the 9th. 2-1 looks about right for him there. |

Bingo on McKinzie! Holy cow was he good today. What a shame for Battle of Midway. He ran the perfect race and was all heart to the end, but still not enough. Tremendous effort. |
