In the San Pascual, I think this may be the spot for Dabster. Maybe McKinzie will just blow the doors off again, but it appears Dabster can control the pace and if he doesn't get too much pressure from Battle of Midway going to the half mile, he may be tough to catch.

In the Holy Bull, I think Garter And Tie has a decent chance in there. He should be close enough, but not right on the pace. He fits here on the figs and will be a much higher price than Maximus Mischief.

Holy Bull...musical chairs with the jocks for a big race??...I'm looking for a pace melt DOWN...and a Harvey Wallbanger coming late on the stretch, hopefully at a price.

Poor Solomini, couldn't get in done today in the 8th at S.A. against the scrubs at 2-5. That's probably it for him.

I tried to beat him with the wrong horse. He's always been an idiot. Very difficult horse to ride.

I don't even bother with the wet tracks any more. You might as well play roulette.

The Holy Bull is not easy to handicap, because of the scant data for the horses. Maximum Mischief has the upper hand according to the math, but these horses are still progressing, in that a horse like Federal Case could surprise, who's shown a liking for the GP track. Pletcher won the Holy Bull with Audible last year.

I doubt you'll get any price on Maximum Mischief, Garter and Tie or Federal Case. It would take a lot to bet against Maximum Mischief.

Acacia Courtney used to give her own picks, but I didn't find her track record very good. She was dropped from the GP telecast in the Fall, but has been back for the winter meet. Now she just goes with the chalks, making up whatever commentary that fits the favorite.

Sad :(

Yeah. Did you watch the race? The 4 was probably 150/1. The Ortiz brothers tired their horses out up front and the 5 came through underneath the 4 who then went all the way around outside the tiring leaders. That's what we call a bad beat, Walt. My Double was paying $287 for a buck.

If only you had this ticket for the exacta in the Holy Bull, instead of the double.

Exacta paid $2,200.

How in the world did you consider Harvey Wallbanger? You've got a crystal ball?

Harvey was OscarTangoEcho's horse. He was looking for the front to melt down. And it did.

I really liked Garter And Tie in there but I thought Romans was prepping Everfast his last out pointing him for this spot. I wasn't sure he could get the distance, but he nearly did.

It was a tough race to handicap, like I said. I had Garter and Tie myself to show, but the odds fell hard from 25-1 to 8-1 by post-time, where it was hardly worth it.

I had 9-1 Zenden in the Swale and just missed it, but did okay otherwise today.

I just realized that if you had that exacta ticket, JORR, it would have paid $22,000. My gosh.

Funny story...

I put together a modest ($32) late P4 ticket Saturday @Gulfstream...hit the other 3 legs (that last MSW with Pletcher/Saez was low-hanging fruit)...I had selected 4 horses for the Holy Bull Leg...but somehow fat-fingered it, and left H. Wallbanger, my huge $$maker, OFF MY F*CKING TICKET...left 1K on the table....

So, really, not so funny.

Cleaned up WPS, but man, sometimes I'm an idiot.

That's a rough one.

I got a little lucky by doing something similar last week. I bet a horse at Gulf for $50 and then the odds kept going up. I thought he was a really good play at 4/1 and as they were going to the gate he had drifted up to 8/1, so I put another $50 on him using the Twin Spires app on my phone. The horse ran his eyeballs out and finished second to the favorite in a photo. I was slightly annoyed. The next time I logged in to the app, I had more money than I should have. I tried to figure out what happened and when I looked I saw that I had accidentally bet the second $50 to place.
