Terrible spill in the 3rd at the Fair Grounds with the #5 horse, Fist of Rage. The horse buckled coming out of the far turn on the inside and went hard into the dirt. Very sad to see. |

I had that horse and the rail just opened up for him, and then he just buckled. Glad the rider was ok... Haven't been seeing a lot of horses going down like the beginning of last year. Maybe I'm not paying attention. |

Honestly, if horses are dying this much, and already five have died at the Fair Grounds this year, then the sport really shouldn't exist. Should we be so insensitive because they're only animals? That's a reason to be sensitive. It's crushing to see these accidents. |

Years ago I saw one break down right in front of me at Arlington. Very tough to see. It was years before I went back. I'm certainly no expert but it seems rules, regulation, testing, etc are all over the place or non-existent. Seems to me for both safety and credibility there needs to be one enforced standard across the US. |
