Cafe Pharoah is one impressive colt. Here was his first stakes try. He completely missed the break and was stuck dead last in a bulky field: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2tLqNdd-f8 This is from yesterday when he bullied the field from the far outside and then really blew the doors off in the final eighth. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pOvq3v8-Luo This is a legitimate Derby horse. |

If Tiz the Law wins the next 2, it can't be considered a Triple Crown in any way, can it? Part of the Triple Crown to me is the endurance and then finishing it off by having to win at a mile and a half monster track. All within 5 weeks. |

Yeah, it will definitely have an asterisk whether it's a literal one or not. But in some ways it may be more difficult. Maintaining form over the entire summer is tough and he's going to have a race in between. |

I don't see what the problem would be, 3 races is 3 races. If he sweeps em..he is a triple crown winner. It's gotta be 15 degrees warmer in the derby this time of year as opposed to May as usual. |

The 12 furlongs is the Test of Champions. This year's Belmont wasn't even at the classic distance (10 furlongs). It was at a prep distance and on a huge track where 9 panels is a glorified sprint. |
