Solid opening day card, very difficult late Pick 5 sequence...Race 3 the 2-Be Here has won last two, and I find it hard to bet on 3 in a row, but he's done it in different styles which I like

JORR, Walt, Rube, Hawg, the retarded one...let's go...these wagers don't make themselves

Looks like your guy is scratched in the third. I'm likely to go with Street Copper. He should be a good overlay in a race that looks pretty evenly matched. Doubles with him to 1 and and 2 in the fourth.

Post subject:  Re: Saratoga 2022

nice long shot...Race 6 the 1-Starrystarrynight literally getting faster each race, gets the rail and Jose Ortiz up...facing winners for the 1st timw and a huge step up but can get it done at a price

and BTW, earlier Race 1...not a great horse, but an awesome name:Auburn Hills out of Palace Malice   that's getting it done right

Motherfucker! I wish he would have stayed low.

Moving along, in the sixth if I can get 6/1 or better on the 10, I'm firing.

Yeah I liked that horse quite a bit...thought that exacta came out a little light given the WPS payouts

Fridays Late Pick 5 thoughts...

Race 6-Not sure who will cross the wire first, but mark my words, it’s going to be a hell of a finish…both the 7-Ruse and the 9-Grape Nuts Warrior have just missed at this level and both fit, as do the 4-Danzigwiththestars and the 5-Straw Gold

Race 7-longer distance and few of these have gone that far…the 5-Will E Sutton is the only one to win at this distance…the 6-I am the Cash Man is bred to run farther and seems to fit…I’ll also be including the 9-Roman Empire, and although not a big fan of Carmouche as the jock, he won in very similar circumstances yesterday so I’m including him

Race 8- the scratch of the 3 opens this up a bit…the 6-Derrynane is 6:2-1-1 at this distance on grass…the 7-Static Fire has raced twice and won both…the 8-Poppy Flower beat the 4 and the 6 last out and feel compelled to use him, and perhaps even the 10-Mystic Eyes who gets Saez in the irons after several good rides yesterday

Race 9-3-Mira Mission may be best horse on paper facing some grueling G1 competition, we’ll see about the ride the jock gives him…also including Cox’x 1-Set Piece and the 7-Public Sector and perhaps the 8-Atone

Race 10 including the 2-Rossa Veloce, who may be the best but will have to fire off the bench, and the 3-Khalil Magic, plus big bomb alert!!! the 4-Wailin Josie just missed with several of these horses the last few weeks, could turn the tables at a huge price.

A work in progress, I’ll need to trim a couple before punching the Pick 5 Ticket

The $120,000 carryover has me playing despite NYRA's egregious bump up in takeout on the carry.

Here's my ticket:

5,6,12 with 3 with 1,4,6 with 6,7 with 1,3,7,8,10 with 1,2,3,7,9

I haven't done a whole lot of work on tomorrow's card but I can tell you I will be playing against Reinvestment Risk who figures to be a very short price. I don't think this is a good spot for him. I think River Dog could wire that field at a pretty big price.

Post subject:  Re: Saratoga 2022

damn thought I'd sneak the 10-Al's Prince through at 4/1 ml...guess not..still keying him in the tri with the 1,2,3,7,9,12 for $45

Xpressbet has a cool function that allows you to look at the will pays for Trifectas

Post subject:  Re: Saratoga 2022

Colonial Downs just had a handle of over 3 Mil on a fucking Monday, I think in large part due to them dropping the takeout (15% on pick 5)...I've quit playing Pick 4's completely and only focus (or "fuck us" as Ozzie would say) on P5

Nice hit on that 5 JORR, didn't care for him myself but was way wrong

P5 ticket 4, 9 / 5, 6, 9 / 6, 7, 8 / 1, 3, 7 / 2, 3, 4, 7

If I can make it through this leg, I'll be in really good shape. I built the ticket around singling the 3 because I thought he was going to be a good overlay. For me he's 9/2 or 5/1 in here. I didn't think he'd be this big though. I should have played the double.

And them's the breaks. All jammed up. Almost a certain winner if he gets clearance. Tough fucking game.

You got a nice start in the PK-5.

Pick 3 6, 7, 8, 10 / 1, 3, 7 / 4 the 4-Wailin Josie is a 6 YO mare who has run 3 of her fastest races last out and against this company, can see her turning the tables at a big price

Was Jean Jacket Joe betting on these races?

Usually to make the point to my CEO that anyone can do X or nobody would do this deal because guy X could have some veto power, I default to “a homeless guy” as the reference. (I agree not very professional, but they put up with me for some reason.)

Last meeting with the boss I said something like “ Nobody would agree to these terms because next thing you know you are in a JV with Jean Jacket Joe”.

 I haven't seen Jean Jacket Joe in awhile. If i had to guess I'd say he frequents the OTB in either Prospect Heights or Oak Brook.
