Love to hear from the horse racing experts on this. Doesn't Gulfstream have the reputation of being.one of the more shady racetracks?

It happens all the time at smaller tracks. I guess this got noticed because it's Gulfstream.

It's not something the pari-mutuel player should really care about. It's guys throwing money away in the pari-mutuel pools to take a shot at offshore bookmakers.

If you were paying attention and played the logical horses, you got a nice fat overlay.

I never bother to look at the GP Quinella pools because they are typically so small.

Gulfstream is notorious for the final odds taking forever to settle. The horses could have run a quarter mile already before they finalize. I always thought that was dodgy and indicated manipulation, but the track says the delay is due to the OTB's contributing to the pool, which takes time for their wages to register.

That said, GP is one of the more winnable tracks, unlike some others.

In the vast majority of cases the "Will Pays" for the horizontals will tell you what the Win odds are going to be. At least at any track with a decent sized handle.
