I'm gonna say it's 50/50 that it ever goes back to a buck and a half even after it returns to Belmont. And maybe it shouldn't. The marathon distance is pretty much obsolete on the dirt in America.
I don't know about how good or bad of a track it is for actual horse racing but the renovated Belmont Park is going to be far better than Saratoga. Saratoga is like the Peoria of New York.
Only a non-racing guy would say that. And I think Belmont is the greatest racetrack in the world. Saratoga is a special place. There's a reason Irish Boy spends a month at the Spa rather than in Elmont.
