Breeders Cup 2024-Del Mar Friday Race 6-Juvenile Turf Sprint (7th Running) These races that have a balance of USA/Euro/Japan runners are so hard to handicap…This should feature a very brisk pace…focusing on the 7-Whistlejacket for Aidan O’Brien, gets a nice post draw and gets the first crack at the frontrunners…10-Govenor Sam has won on four straight races on four different tracks including Saratoga and Keeneland…the 2-Aesterius is the distance specialist here winning 4 of 6 attempts…morning line favorite is Japan’s 8-Ecoro Sieg, and I got nothing to go by on this horse (any thoughts from you miscreants?) Race 7-Juvenile Fillies Boy, the 7-Non-Compliant checks all the boxes, 2 races, two wins, one at this distance, the other at this track…gets probably the best jock for this weekend in Hernandez, could be a single…the 3-Immersive is another strong win candidate, dominating at Kee in a similar G1 event as well as Saratoga for Trainer Cox, but Alacibides winners have not done well here at BC…the 2-Snowite tries to break her maiden in a 2 Turn BC race?...She could like her father (Good Magic 2017), huge price as well…the 10-Scottish Lassie ran quite impressively in the Frizette (15 winners of that race have gone on to win this one) but that outside post will prove a problem …the Japan horse 9-American Bikini lures Ryan Moore and could be the controlling speed…1-Vodka with A Twist is an outstanding horse, and proves the depth of this field… tougher than it looks to handicap…average winner has paid more than $20 Race 8-Juvenile Turf Heavy favorite 1-Lake Victoria will need to scoot to get out under this big field, if she doesn’t look for both the 7-Thought Process (three straight wins since moving to turf) or the 10-Abeintot…I also like the 13-Vixen who will get a clean trip from the outside with Johnny V aboard |

Race 9-Juvenile Pace should be brisk…1-East Avenue has enough early speed to get out from others, may be hard to catch…the 6-Citizen Bull has been working well on this track, and has a 1st and 3rd here as well. Interesting to note this horse won the American Pharoah Stakes, and 5 of the last 10 winners of THAT race have won THIS race…10-Chancer McPatrick is talented but a horse to trying two turns for the 1st time, at this level, is a big ask…the 5-Jonathons Way (out of Vekoma, whose offspring have gone nuts) should be in the trifecta as well…the 7-Gaming looms with 2 wins on this course in two tries, loses Pratt but gets Irad Race 10-Juvenile Turf 17th running of this race, the Euro’s have won 12 of them (including two here at DM)…the Euro contingent outside will all be a threat…starting with the 11-New Century…his race last out at Woodbine was impressive having a horrible trip, then blasting home…the 13-Henri Matisse loses the blinkers for Aidian O’Brien who is 23:6-6-0 in this race…Charles Appleby is 5:3-1-0 and he runs the 12-Aomori City…but here’s the thing, all three of these horses have to deal with each other and 9 other horses around that first turn (or bend as our mates say)…the 7-Seagulls Eleven is another Euro, but this one gets American Rider Luis Saez and a nice post…the 5-Zulu Kingdom is the best American hope, gets Prat aboard for Chad Brown Picks in a bit |

1st...was typing it in as the race unfolded Race 2 anxious to see how these turf sprints will play out...6-Kissed by Fire is trained by Peter Eurton who could get hot quickly around here...really like the 3 as well...the 4 is taking a shit ton of money, way over bet in my opinion |

Race 3 I'm realizing that I underestimated the 2nd Knapp entry in the 9-In The air Tonight, even though I saw it with my own two eyes anyway if his partner's jock, Rosario can figure out the pace (which should not be hard) he could control this entire race...we'll see |
