Post subject: | Pick Winners CFB, NFL Week 8 |
This weekly wagering contest will reward the best football prognosticator with a $100 gift certificate from a meat/steak company. New guys can still join in any time and you don't have to make a pick every week. You can post your plays any time, but they must be posted before a game you are playing kicks off. You must make your picks in this thread and you must provide at least one reason for each pick. Minimum 50 picks to qualify by the end of the contest. .............................This Week.....Season......% Mitch Cumstein.............6-3..........33-13-4......72 buryman......................2-3...........5-4...........56 Nas.............................9-5..........27-22-3......55 Bud Dude....................7-5..........14-12-1......54 Mustang Rob................7-5..........15-14-2......52 good dolphin................4-2..........23-22-1......51 Chus.........................19-15-1......94-102-6....48 Hawkeye Vince............6-4...........17-20-2......46 Gloopan Kuratz............4-3...........11-13.........46 Hot Sexy Irish Girl.......0-3...........37-46-4......45 reents.........................8-4...........35-44-6......44 schmitty1211...............3-6...........14-18-2.......44 a retard......................4-2.............9-12-1.......43 FarveFan.....................0-1...........20-28-3.......42 newper.......................4-7.............7-10-2.......41 Boilermaker Rick.........2-4...........14-21.........40 donspiracy..................0-4...........12-22..........35 muman89...................4-4...........11-21-1.......34 hootmon.....................2-3............9-18-2........33 BD..............................0-0...........2-4.............33 Darren-Tinley Park.......2-4..........11-26-1.......30 Chuckle Nuts...............0-0............2-7............22 Coasttocoast...............0-0............0-2............0 |

Ive been pretty damn weak so far, but again here goes nothing Cleveland -3 over Rams The Browns dont really suck, and that is good enough to beat the Rams by 3. Colts -6.5 over Panthers This has trap game written all over it, but I think the Colts take care of business by 2-3 TDs and get ready for the Pats after that. Raiders +9 over Titans VY back or not, the Titans dont have the offense to outscore Oakland by 9. Jaguars +3.5 over Tampa Bay Probably the dumbest line of the week. Patriots -16.5 over Washington When I first saw this line, I was pretty surprised because the Redskins are probably the best team in NFL history to be 16.5 dogs, but NE might go 19-0 ATS this year. Packers +3 over Broncos Stupid line, Champ might not play and even if he does the Packers D holds the Broncos without a TD. Packers 17 Broncos 6. |

Here goes: Cleveland -3 over the horrible Rams. Cleveland off of a bye. Indy -6 Vinny? David Carr? You've got to be kidding. Bills +3 How are the Jets favored against anyone but Miami? Anybody seen them play? Indiana U +7.5 Bucky is overrated Ill -13.5 against Testicle Tech. USC + 3 I'll take the trojans and points against anyone in the NCAA and half the NFL. S Fla -4.5 Mich -24 against Minny. Minny is just terrible. OSU -3.5 I think the Buckeyes spank Penn St. |

Boston College +3 vs Virginia Tech- The Hokes have a strong defense and great on special teams, but Boston College has the better offense and a good rush defense and I love the Eagles. |

Virginia Tech -3.5 against Boston College If only this game fit my home dog on weekday national TV theory. I really dislike laying points in this kind of game but I think VT gives BC more than it can handle. It sucks to be on the correct side and still lose BUT: Fresno State +3 against Boise State What do we have here...a home dog against a ranked (well at least a highly thought of) opponent on a weeknight and nationally televised game. I likes this one much. |

Almost rode your fins on this one, Dolphin, but ended up playing the Rockies to score first. . .that would've broke my heart (but then, I'm a sensitive fella). Vikings +1 Wrong team is favored here. AP runs wild. Indy -6 1/2 Just a hunch on this one but I expect Indy to win big. Pats - 16 1/2 Can't go against a team that has faithfully covered every week this season. |

It is very ez to go against a team that has covered every week this season...This is a terrible saying but...This could be a trap game... |

Look at my pics ... and go the opposite (if you haven't done so already ). From thegreek.com: Purdue / Northwestern over 64.5 Lots and lots of offense in this one. My only concern is if it's raining. Michigan -23 over Minnesota Michigan is back to being Michigan again, plus Minnesota sucks. California +3 against Arizona State ASU finally plays someone and we see how real they are. Cleveland / St. Louis over 45 The return of Stephen Jackson sparks the Rams offense, but I don't know if they'll win. Tampa Bay -3.5 over Jacksonville Gray looked terrible on Monday night, although I'm a little weary of the hook. NY Giants -9.5 over Miami Miami is just a bad, bad football team. |

Colts and Panthers is weird now that BD told me Vinny will start I think Colts are a good play beating them by more than 7 points. Vikings and Eagles is very close with Vikings get 1 point. They are better than the Eagles and at home - Vikings win more than 1. Pats and Redskins - Go with the Pats till they lose then make sure to bet the Pats the next week because they never lose back to back. Pats win by more than 17. Giants and Dolphons across the pond. No one does well, under 48 points. Lastly, my crack again at College Football and my CMU Chips. They'll win by more than 3 points aginst the Golden Flashes. |

Northwestern +13 vs Purdue- Northwestern will be passing all day, there was talk of rain, not anymore, and Northwestern can stop Purdue on defense enough to keep it close, if not win. Northwestern and Purdue over 65- Again both teams pass the ball, Purdue struggles to run so I see not much defense tommorow. Georgia +7.5 vs FLorida- Georgia plays well in this game since Richt got there, a fan pick too, even though the Bulldogs have lost like 18 out of 20 in this series, hopefully something changes tommorow. It's Georgia +7.5 not -7.5, sorry about that. Michigan State -3 vs Iowa- Sparty has played well on defense lately, Iowa has a strong defense but gets too worn down and no offense unless it is a 10-6 game, I don't see that. Virginia -3.5 vs N.C. State- Virginia impressed me last week and Chris Long, Howie's son, looks like he will be a star in college and in the Nfl, Wolpack not that good, so I like the Cavaliers here. SOuth Carolina +2.5 vs Tennesee- I think South Carolina bounces back from their loss last week more than the VOlunteers, and too me Tennesee has seem to lost the home field advantage that they use to dominate and not much defense. Ohio State -3.5 vs Penn State- I think Ohio State is running to Michigan undefeated and Penn State looks bad this season, Buckeyes D dominates the Penn State O, probably like the Michigan Penn State game like a 17-10, 24-10. |

Illinois/Ball State under 60- It's been raining all week down here, and even if the conditions were perfect, I just don't see these two teams combining for that score. |

CFB Sat Oct 27 Penn St +3.5 over Ohio St Home team has covered last nine. Lookin for Penn St to keep this one close as the home pup. Arizona +4 over Washington Dog is 11-2 in this series and Wash is 1-11 as Home fav. Texas -20.5 over Nebraska Nebraskas has been brutal the last three weeks and now they go to Texas. Home team has covered last four. Wash St +6 over UCLA Wash St has covered last six in the series. UCLA 4-10 as a road fav. Miami Oh +13.5 over Vandy I had Vandy last week against SC but now they are the DD fav. Gotta see a little letdown for them today. Vandy 5-12 as a Home fav. Oregon St -14 over Stanford Stanford has played USC, TCU and Arizona tough the last three weeks with those games decided by 1, 2 and 1 pt each. Now they go to Oreg St who had last week off. I think Stanford comes back to reality today. |
