Post subject: | Pick Winners CFB, NFL Week 11 |
Start posting now for these games. Sorry, if you missed out on the Toledo-Ball St. game Gloopan This weekly wagering contest will reward the best football prognosticator with a $100 gift certificate from a meat/steak company. New guys can still join in any time and you don't have to make a pick every week. You can post your plays any time, but they must be posted before a game you are playing kicks off. You must make your picks in this thread and you must provide at least one reason for each pick. Minimum 50 picks to qualify by the end of the contest. ............................This Week....Season.......% Mitch Cumstein.........6-0...........50-17-2.........75 Evergreen Tommy.....9-2...........20-13-1........61 Nas........................20-11-1.......66-49-4........57 a retard....................2-1...........17-14-1........55 Mustang Rob.............0-0...........15-14-2........52 Bud Dude.................7-11..........37-37-1........50 Hawkeye Vince..........0-0...........30-30-3........50 good dolphin.............1-1...........29-29-1........50 buryman...................0-0...........10-10..........50 At Large....................2-5............9-9............50 Matt Murton's Beard....3-1...........6-6.............50 Chus.......................15-13-1.....137-143-8.....49 Gloopan Kuratz..........0-0...........18-19-3.......49 FarveFan...................0-0...........30-33-3.......48 newper.....................0-0............11-13-2.......46 reents.......................7-3...........51-62-8.......45 Irish Boy...................0-0...........38-46-4.......45 muman89..................3-2...........21-27-1......44 schmitty1211.............4-4...........28-38-2......42 donspiracy.................7-7...........19-29.........40 Boilermaker Rick........0-1...........14-22.........39 Darren-Tinley Park.....3-3...........19-38-1......33 hootmon....................0-0...........9-18-2.......33 Chuckle Nuts.............0-0...........2-7.............22 Coasttocoast.............0-0...........0-2.............0 Overall___________689-729-51_____48.6% Three Week Trend__ NFL Week 10_______89-65-2_______57.8% NFL Week 9________99-105-7______48.5% NFL Week 8________79-58-1_______57.7% Please let me know if any of the totals are wrong. Yes I have bet enough to cover the x-mas present budget and a majority of a TBD Mexico trip. As all runs I am sure this will end abrubtly so I am severaly pulling back my weekly wager (not here but the real $$). My strategy I have been using this year is simple: I don't listen to anyone's predictions, especially the so called experts, before Sunday I absorb enough info on any key injuries to factor into my decision making. If you have been watching the NFL closely for decade(s) as I have you look at the matchups and just bet from your gut feel calling out the 6-8 games you feel strongest about. For me I single out the NFC North games more than anything. In terms of my real wagering I've been putting 200/game on ones I feel really strongly about and 100 on the ones less so, this is usually a 50/50 split in a given week. I actually have a better record in the 100 games so far but both are well above .500 In the end its all luck! |

Two other slightly humorous things I have noticed 1) It seems when people type in multiple paragraphs supporting their pick they tend to lose more 2) If you are on the fence on a pick and the outcome of you winning will most likely adversely effect your fantasy football team I say go for it, that has worked for me a couple times nothing wrong w/hedging |

Nas is the one to be really impressed with. 57% over an almost two year period is professional level. |

Don: A correction to the leaderboard please. I believe I was 3-0, not 2-1. St. Louis won, Dallas won, and Indy lost by 2 points. Thanks for doing this. a retard wrote: 5Dimes

Oregon -11 The Ducks remember last year when they lost big at home to AZ and tonight they easily reciprocate. Packers -9 1/2 Carolina's bad. Packers roll at Lambeau. Rams at 49ers Under 40 2 of the NFL's worst fail to put up points against each other. |

You all may want to re-think your Oregon play because I'm going with the Ducks as well (-10.5 thegreek.com) over Arizona. Oregon has got too much to lose to play poorly tonight. |

Lines from WSEX NCAA Northwestern +13.5 @ Illinois Coming off a huge win, a slight let down for the Illini (who still win outright). Notre Dame -6 vs Duke If the Irish can't cover against Duke at home, Charlie Weis needs to go. Virginia Tech -16 vs Miami Back to back blowout losses for the Canes. Kansas -26 vs Iowa St. Kansas needs to cement it's spot as #2 in the BCS with a blowout. Ohio St. -4 @ Michigan Buckeyes rebound from loss to the Illini by pounding Michigan. NFL Buffalo +16.5 vs New England Bills in a primetime home game vs a tough opponent equals enough to keep it within 17. St. Louis -3 @ San Francisco Break up the Rams, they get their second win in as many weeks. Dallas -11 vs Washington Cowboys steamroll the Skins at home. Oakland +4.5 @ Minnesota Culpepper seeks some revenge against the Vikes. New Orleans +1 @ Houston Seems like a sucker bet, but I'll take the Saints on the road. Cleveland -2.5 @ Baltimore Sucker bet #2 perhaps? Ravens might not score in double digits the rest of the year. Green Bay -9.5 vs Carolina No reason for Packers not to blow out a bad Panters team at home. |
