* Filly Eight Belles will be co-entered in the Oaks and Derby. A final decision will be made after posts are drawn for the Derby on Wednesday.

* Probable favorite Big Brown worked yesterday in a sizzling :58 3/5 for five furlongs at Palm Meadows. He will be shipped from Florida on Monday to Churchill Downs.

* Right now on the outside looking in are Bob Black Jack who is in Calfornia determing if they should ship in and Denis of Cork who is already at Churchill and working great in the mornings.

* Cool Coal Man worked over Churchill yesterday in a modest :47 2/5 in company for 4 furlongs.

* Connections of Tomcito are resigned to the fact that he will not get in the Derby and are planning the next race for the colt to be the Belmont or Peter Pan Stakes.

* Visionaire is shipping to Churchill Downs on Friday

I meandered my way over to the Kentucky Derby website last night and I saw that they had a group of half a dozen handicappers listing their top-20. Not one of them put Big Brown first. Maybe his price won't go quite as low as I feared. I think they're all insane, although I do like Colonel John.

There are rumblings, which I cannot verify and am disinclined to believe, that Pyro will not be entered. Make of that what you will.

This isn't a very good group, but I can't remember ever being so curious as to the results of a race.

Let me preface this by saying I am not a horse racing fan although I do enjoy watching the Derby and that's about it.

I had a dream last night that I won $200,000 betting on the 5 horse in the Kentucky Derby. Take it to the bank. My dreams are never wrong. They also paid me with a single $200,000 bill. So, you know it's accurate.

Big Brown's biggest negative is how lightly raced he is. People still don't look favorably on that. He'll be the favorite - probably in the 4-1/9/2 range is my guess. Having not seen Colonel John, I can't say whether I like him or not.

Pyro jogged yesterday and will work on Monday. Something isn't right with that horse - I haven't seen a top level horse just give up on a race like that in quite a while. Poly or not, there are some questions to be asked.

That's Millard Fillmore on the 200K, right?

Actually it was a clean shaven Abe Lincoln with a gold stamp and that little verification strip in it. I checked. Couple more facts about it - the horse was 6-1 and I was to be paid $250 but they mistakenly gave me a $200k bill instead of a $200 bill.

Also, the horse's number was white on a blue background.
