* Eight Belles drew the outside Post 12 for the Kentucky Oaks possibly solidfying her entry into the Derby. * Big Brown is at Chruchill Downs. * Denis of Cork was impressive in his 1/2 mile drill yesterday. * Tale of Ekati and Halo Najib worked this morning. Tale of Ekati worked 49 2/5 for a half mile while Halo Najib went a sluggish 1:05 for five furlongs. * The feel good story of the week -> Cowboy Cal's owners announced that any earnings from the race would be donated to the University of Texas's MD Anderson Cancer Center in honor of John Long. John Long was a family friend who nicknamed the McNair's son 'Cowboy Cal' when he was 3 and fighting cancer. John passed away before he turned 4. Robert McNair and his wife own the horse as well as the Houston Texans. |
