Post subject:  Re: Pick Winners CFB, NFL Week 14

I cannot believe they did not move that SEC championship to prime time.

Louisiana-Lafayette -4.5 against Middle Tennessee
Just for a little action tonight. I will take the home team, who has 2 1,000 yard rushers in the same lineup. MTU has gotten fat the last three weeks on the bottom three teams in their conference. They have given up big points to anyone good. LLU is nothing great, but a home team that can run should be able to wear out a bad defense in the second half.

Rutgers -11 against Louisville
Late money on Rutgers is driving the line up, as it was at 9.5 at some point yesterday. Rutgers has won 5 in a row, many against better teams than Louisville and most have been by larger than the 11. Louisville's secondary is heavily injured which plays into Rutgers NCAA leading reciever Britt's game. I think senior night on national TV for a group that helped to define the new Scarlet Knight era will be highly emotional for players and fans alike. The Knights will bury them early.

Raiders +9.5 at Chargers
The Chargers are this year's Bengals. They have been unjustifiably favored in a series of games that they have failed to cover. I know they have an impressive offensive lineup, but this group has been failing far too regularly to rely upon. This is a big number in a rivalry game and the Raiders actually have a better record against the spread than the Chargers. Also the Raider offense has been showing life lately, reestablishing the ground game that made Huggy Bear a 1,000 yard back last year.

Ball State -14.5 against Buffalo in Detroit
Ball State wrapped up the regular season by beating the other two teams in the MAC who were far and away #2 and #3 in the conference. They beat Central Michigan on the road by seven in a game that was not than close and then destroyed Western Michigan at home. Otherwise, there is no team in the conference who has come within 14 of Ball State. I like Buffalo and have played them several times this year. They have built this record by beating lesser teams in the much weaker division of the MAC. I lay the 14.5 without blinking and would not be shocked if they doubled that.

Navy -11 against Army in Philadelphia
This is not as good of a Navy team as we have seen in the past few years. There defense is soft, particularly against the pass and they have had injuries on offense. Still, they lead the nation in rushing and their replacement QB is really starting to roll. I like Navy in this one big.

Cincinnatti -7 at Hawaii
Always dangerous to give points on the island, especially in a game that has no ramifications. Hawaii sucks, plain and simple. They have a decent record, but it is deceptive. Bearcat coach Kelly is making a name for himself, so I don't think he will let his team play soft. Also, this is not a huge number to make, so I don't see a back end cover. Cinci played soft last week against syracuse and still beat them by 20. I can see the same result here.

Oklahoma -16.5 against Missouri in Kansas City
I cannot see playing against Oklahoma. They have been battle tested against the best competiton in the nation, and really dominated the schedule. Even against Texas they had a nice lead that they gave up. Points will be scored, but there is absolutely no reason Oklahoma isn't playing in the 50s again.

Bears -6.5 againt Jags
Jags coming off a monday night road game should be ripe for picking here. Take this one hard.

Dolphins +1 against Bills in Toronto
JP Losman starting for a sliding bills team. Their D is not playing well and Ricky Williams makes a triumphal return to Toronto.

Pats -4.5 against Seahawks
Jets -4 at 49ers

Panthers -3 against Bucs
Home team wins almost 90% of the games in this division. I'll take my chances that it will not be a difference of 1 or 2 points.

The times for the games are a bit off. The SEC game in a dome, will be played during the day. The Big 12 game, played at Arrowhead Stadium, will start at 7 PM.

Shouldn't it be the other way around?

Yes. I believe it gets [Larry David voice]prettay, prettay cold[/Larry David voice] in KC, so they should have it the other way around.

Hawkeye Vince is hoping for a good last week

Louisville @ Rutgers -10 Two programs heading in different directions. (WIN)

Adding on....
Buffalo vs Ball State -14.5 Buffalo has put together a nice year but I don't see any quality wins from them. (LOSS)

Pitt +3 @ UConn - Head scratcher of a number. UConn has lost 2 of last 3 with win to lowly Syracuse. Pitt has been tough all year long. (WIN)

BC vs Va Tech Pk - Va Tech is going to come after the freshman QB this week. (WIN)

South Florida @ West Virginia -7 West Virginia is playing good ball right now. South Florida has been struggling on the road. (loss)

Western Kentucky @ Florida International -8 FIU has improved ton this season while W Ky has been plain ole bad. (win)

4-2 week

What's your reasoning here, Nas?

The UNDER seems to be the play here, and the Raiders have scored 63 points in their last 7 games, and both teams are expected to run the ball a lot tonight, keeping that clock ticking.

SD line may be a little high as well considering they've lost 2 straight homes, and are just 4-8 now.

From thegreek.com:

Ball St (-15.5) over Buffalo
I've rode them this far, why stop now.

Alabama (+10) against Florida
It pains me to pick this since I can't stand Nick Saban, so I'm hoping Alabama covers but loses. I just don't think it's right that the supposed No. 1 team in the country is getting that many points. Florida has some injuries too.

Cincinnati (-7.5) over Hawaii
Although the Bearcats may feel like their on vacation, they still have work to do.

USC / UCLA (Over 46)
I'm trying it again this week with the over in a USC game.

Boston College (+1) against Virginia Tech
Since most everyone had the game as a pick 'em, I'll go with the team getting the point now (playing for the push).

Indianapolis (-13.5) over Cincinnati
Since it's indoors, the Colts should score at will against the Bengals.

Chicago (-6.5) over Jacksonville
I normally don't like playing the Bears game, but since it's under a tuddy, I'll take the Bears.

Washington (+5.5) against Baltimore
Not calling for the outright win, but the Redskins should at least keep it close.

NY Jets (-4) over San Francisco
A lot of travel for both teams these past couple weeks, but Favre gets the Jets back on track in this one.

Green Bay (-6) over Houston
It's going to be cold up there in GB, so I'll go with the Pack at home.

Post subject:  Re: Pick Winners CFB, NFL Week 14

Pittsburgh +2.5 vs UConn- With Pitt's big win over West Virginia last week, I think keep the momentum going tomorrow.

Virginia Tech pick over Boston College- Both teams play defense, but with BC's starting quarterback out, will not put up a lot of points and I think Va Tech wins the ACC 2 straight years.

Oklahoma -16.5 vs Missouri- I would like to see Missouri win this one, but after the loss to Kansas and the way Okalahoma is playing offense, I don't even seeing this close.

Alabama +10 over Florida

Florida has been a moneymaker since their loss to Missisipi. I will take the pts with a team that hasn't lost yet. Nick Saban is one of the best and if anyone can put his team in a position to win this game it is him.

Ucla +32.5 over USC

Will take all these pts in a rivalry game.

Hawaii +7.5 over Cincy

Cincy locked into their bowl berth going to Hawaii for Hawaii's last home game. Gotta think Cincy not to sharp in paradise for this one.

Post subject:  Re: Pick Winners CFB, NFL Week 14

Week 15 Bowl Season Starts With Four Games On Dec. 20th

Pittsburgh @ Connecticut -2 1/2

Pitt-UConn features a pair of the nation's best running backs in LeSean McCoy and Donald Brown. UConn QB Tyler Lorenzen, playing his second game since returning from a broken foot.
UConn leads the all-time series 3-1, winning each of its two home games.

East Carolina @ Tulsa -11 1/2

Neither ESPN.com, Foxsports.com, or Cbssportsline.com have a preview for this game. What a joke. This is the C-USA championship game and Tulsa gets to play it at home? Tulsa is 2nd in the nation in scoring at 49 points a game. ECU is about half of that. The total is 65.

Navy @ Army +10 1/2

This is a timeless game, like before the forward pass was invented. Expect lots of grindy option plays on both sides of the ball. The Balck Knights keep it within double digits in Philly.

Boston College PK @ Virginia Tech

It's a rematch in the ACC title game as Boston College takes on Virginia Tech. And once again, the Hokies will be seeking revenge for a regular-season loss to the Eagles. At stake for BC and VT: a spot in the Orange Bowl vs. Cincinnati.

Washington +35 @ California

Yes, the Huskies are the college version of the Detroit Lions. And they almost won last week. There is no money line for this game on pinnaclesports.com, I take this as a good omen.

Alabama +10 @ Florida

It's being billed as the greatest conference championship game of all time. It'll be a clash of styles at Georgia Dome: the power of Alabama vs. the speed of Florida. All that's on the line for the Tide and Gators is a trip to the BCS title game.

USC -32 at UCLA

White jerserys, red jerseys whatever, this one will be ugly. Not only is UCLA No. 107 in scoring, but USC owns the No. 1 scoring defense, allowing just 7.8 points per game. The total is 46 1/2.

Conn -3 vs. Pitt
Wanny's boys made their season and got themselves a bowl last week with their win in the backyard brawl. Panthers could be flat as a pancake today.

Alabama +10 vs. Florida
Alabama-Florida OVER 52
Dog and over in the SEC. Going back to one of the old classic handicapping principles of college football: give me the better rushing team with points. Offenses usually rule in college football big games and I don't see either D shutting down either of these Os.

Oklahoma -16-1/2 vs. Mizzou
My only worry about this game is that OU gets way ahead and takes its foot off the gas and lets Mizzou in the back door. Mizzou way overrated earlier in the season and OU is the one team that could just give them an awful beatdown.

Bears -6.5 vs Jaguars- I don't see the Jags doing much and should get the Bears back on the winning end.

Texans +6 vs Pakcers- Would not be suprised if the Texans won, but they seem to have the offense going and right the Packers can't stop anybody.

Titans +14 vs Browns- This should be the easiest win all day, Browns down to third string QB and Titans go for the division.

Vikings -10 vs Lions- This game would have been close if the Vikings didn't have the Williams wall, but they do and Peterson will run all day.

Jets -3.5 vs 49ers- If the Jets want to be special in January they need to show people here and I think they will with a convincing win.

Dolphins +1 vs Bills- The dolphins caught a break that this game is inside, and keept the magical season going with a nice road win.

Cowboys +3 vs Steelers- The Cowboys need to show people they are for real and could do it with a nice show in Pittsburgh, but may struggle without Barber.

Patriots -6.5 vs Seahawks- Sounds like Hasselback will be out and look for Cassel to have another fine game, Seahawks just looking to next season.

Week 15 Part II How To Chase After Going 0-7 On Saturday.com

Bengals @ Colts -13 1/2

The Natty is a bad team filled with bad people, Colts act like a playoff team.

Jags @ Bears -6 1/2

Kyle is our quarterback.

Texans +6 @ Packers

GB defense too injured, it's the return of Matt Schwab!

Browns @ Titans -14

If Cleveland gets more than 5 points, it'll be a moral victory.

Vikings -10 @ Lions

Minnesota steamrolls the worst team in pro football.

Redskins @ Ravens -5

Welcome to the Joe Flacco era.

Eggles @ Giants -6 1/2

Only Neos huge spaceballs can stop the NY Football Giants. Whoa!

Falcons +3 @ Saints

Yet another rookie QB leads his team to the playoffs. ATL breaks the NFC South @ home trend.

Jets -3 1/2 @ 49ers

Brett Favre easily handles the coached up Niners.

Dolphins +1 @ Bills in Toronto

As a Bills fan I'm looking forward to the draft not the playoffs. :(

Chefs +9 1/2 @ Broncos

Denver is filled with a bunch of lousy bums. And the football team is no good either. Hey-ooo! :chef: :chef:

Rams +14 @ Cardinals

STL RB Jackson has a big game. AZ faces a severe pucker factor trying to wrap up the division.

Cowboys @ Steelers -3

Terrell Owens will get his head torn off. This isn't a home game vs. the Seagulls.

Patriots -6 1/2 @ Seahawks

Senaca Wallace can't keep Seattle within a TD.

Buccanners @ Panthers -3

Tampa is strong, but will find a way to botch this one.
